I bought my Elly jersey after his cycle game. He had a rough end to the year then a rough first week, but man did that Inside the Park home run feel good to be wearing his Jersey at the time.
love how he spent the offseason learning english so he can interview better and have a bigger connection with the fans. this kid is a beast, the Reds need to secure him for life.
I’m not a big baseball fan in general but my team is the Rays. However when Cincy is on tv I’m watching . This guy woke up a love for watching baseball I never knew I had. I hope he is around for a long time .
I Apologize for the terrible grammar as I am using talk to text on my phone because I can't text because my fingers hurt and I hope I don't have to pull landscaping duty .... If you reach Major League level baseball without being a great athlete unless a player has some sort of niche skill like a knuckleball pitcher maybe..... And I'm not saying that a picture that specializes in throwing knuckleballs can't be a great athlete but typically a person that can throw a baseball over 90 miles an hour they're a pretty damn good athlete. Throwing a baseball really hard requires the same fast twitch muscles that are used when a person dunks on a 10-ft goal or sprints exceptionally well. Of course certain positions typically have better athletes than other positions. An outfielder that can run like a damn deer and has a cannon for an arm is pretty damn athletic. I get tired of people making comments about baseball having inferior athletes compared with other sports. People don't even realize that in baseball prospects are required to run the 60-yard dash because sprinting is pretty damn important in baseball. I guess people assume that in order to be a top level base runner stealing high numbers of bases each season is more about skill rather than just sheer speed. it's both..... They have to be creative in the way they slide because the catcher at this level of baseball we'll have a cannon for an arm and will not be slow moving when throwing down to second or third. And hitting a major league or any professional or college level pitcher isn't more about skill than it is athleticism. Sure there is a lot of skill involved in being a good hitter at higher levels but does anyone really think that a poor athlete could ever be a professional or college level hitter and put up great numbers? Football and basketball are similar to baseball in that certain positions are known for less athleticism than others. Middle in God damn fielders aren't typically as big as say a third baseman or a first baseman but I know there are exceptions to this and I'm just speaking generally. Think about the positions in basketball or football and the size differences and speed differences between positions. I don't know.....I guess because baseball has a slower overall pace but that does not mean that baseball doesn't have moments that are just as fast as any sport with players running full tilt and everyone utilizing all of their ability. I mean I guess people don't realize that in order to prevent a base runner from scoring or beating out a ground ball it might require players to move with a little bit of urgency lol. I think folks look at baseball players and assume that they're not a great athlete a lot of the time because of the lack of familiarity with the game. I'm sure many people could see Josh Hamilton on TV and not realize that the dude had top level like 1 percentile level athleticism. There aren't many athletes of his caliber in the world yet even those less gifted than he are often freaking amazing athletes. Go look at some chipper Jones high School football highlights because that dude could have played in the NFL I have no doubt. I know that I could have presented my argument in a much more organized and clear way but hell if a person's not going to agree that to be a great baseball player playing at a high there needs to be some pretty damn good athleticism then I'm not going to waste my time trying to convince them otherwise. I do take offense to the assumptions about this and baseball because I think baseball is an amazing sport and someone talking like that could influence some young kid and that kid might never even give baseball a try just because they're somehow equating it with golf in their minds due to the ignorance of people.
Who knew Ernesto de la Cruz (the greatest Mexican musician of all time) had a son that was so good at baseball. They never told us about this in the movie
De La Cruz is so quick he often beats the throw to first. When he is playing ss if he can field the ball in his neighborhood he consistently throws out the runner. He is developing into a complete player. Even more impressive for a guy who is 6'5"!!
Elly literally has no weakness in his game. Dude plays defense has an arm hes accurate has speed can make contact or destroy a ball base hits home runs doubles triples rbi machine like bruh... Hes a gahdayum cyborg
"India around third, India scores! IT'S A CYCLEEEEEEEEEE!"
One of the best calls of my lifetime. Go Reds!
I personally loved "That ball had a family!"
Bro no way I told my grandma the that was one of my fav calls to and the other when my uncle hit a grand slam

This is what makes baseball so fun to watch! New players and old, I tip my hat to each and everyone of you.
I bought my Elly jersey after his cycle game. He had a rough end to the year then a rough first week, but man did that Inside the Park home run feel good to be wearing his Jersey at the time.
i’ve never watched a reds game in my life. i love this announcer. “That ball had a family” is a terrific call
"... into the shrubbery!"
i’ve heard many things under the sun, but “that ball had a family” has to be the most original and hilarious call i’ve ever heard
love how he spent the offseason learning english so he can interview better and have a bigger connection with the fans. this kid is a beast, the Reds need to secure him for life.
Castellinis only care about themselves so he'll go somewhere that'll pay him like NY or LA
the reds will trade him.
They better not. He’s a generational talent
They need to pay him like they do others!!
He can always come over to the Yankees haha 😆 can you imagine him and judge
this dude is insane

I've never seen anything like him 😊
Yea it’s wild. If athletes start placing baseball it could really start to get interesting
Literally me
He a beast among men
It’s so great to see a game with Elly in it. And he is always smiling, he really loves baseball
I will never forget being at ellys cycle game, not only did he get a cycle but it was one of the best reds games in YEARS

Dam, this guy is not human, De La Cruz is cyborg mechanism wrapped in synthetic tissue. MVP skills.
An absolutely unimaginable talent.. You can’t make a ball player like this up.. Wow! Wow and triple WOW!!
Amazing talent, a true baseball player. Gifted. Stay healthy young man. You're a once upon a time player.
Man is truly a unicorn. He worked so hard on English that he is now doing interviews in English now. Special and so glad he is on my favorite team.
If any person thought baseball was boring. De La Cruz will change your mind.
hell yes
Good for the game
I’m not a reds fan but I love watching this guy he’s a rising star in the MLB
I’m not a big baseball fan in general but my team is the Rays. However when Cincy is on tv I’m watching . This guy woke up a love for watching baseball I never knew I had. I hope he is around for a long time .
It's not just Elly that is eletric, the comentator is too, everytime Elly does something fantastic the comment is there to give me goosebumps
"That Ball had a Family!!!" had me dying

He’s got my 10 year old son excited to watch baseball. Incredible to for the game!
The brewers are his fav team. What a awesome baseball player. Setting records already.
Camera man can’t even keep up with this greatness 😂😂😂 Pure Legend
If every team had athletes like this baseball would be fun to watch
I Apologize for the terrible grammar as I am using talk to text on my phone because I can't text because my fingers hurt and I hope I don't have to pull landscaping duty ....
