so keep the antenna upright, oh and for people who are asking, if installed correctly, the little radio device can send and recieve signals from the bike from about 1\2 mile away. It costs around 200-300$ but is well worth it unless you plan on buying another bike sometime.
proximity? no - perimeter, yes... you put it under your seat and turn it up on high.. when you set the alarm (like i did) if you get "near" the bike, it will start to chirp like it did.. if you keep standing around it for awhile, it will then set off the alarm..
about 2 hours or so.. it took awhile because you have to plan out where you want it all (which is pretty much your tail).. just one regret, the antenna doesn't send the signal to your pager.. I'm thinking about calling them and see if they have some kind of solution - maybe a singal booster.. This vid is just for CBRforums and wasnt just for youtube and was only to demo what the perimeter sensor (the chirping) and the full alarm sounds like.
every bike is different in the setup process.. you really can't screw it up unless you use all the sticky velcro - but you can pick up more at autozone for cheap. Just Sit down, take apart your bike abit and PLAN out where you want it.. Fairly simple (just make sure you hide most or all the wires so thieves cant cut them or see them)..
it had perimeter setting (the bottom left button) so when i get close it chirps but if you move it/touch it (hard) or put key in inginition - it sets it off.. I place my alarm in the trunk which should be on the fairing i believe (the trunk muffles alot of the sound)
Just dont see the feature for remote start on a motorcycle. warm up periods should happen when the operator of the bike is near. The only two reasons for remote start I've seen is to warm up (which is what is used for cars in winter) and the coolness factor. I rarely see someone riding a cycle in snow and installing a remote start so it can heat up for them. (this isnt to you BMWfrik - it's addressed to all the people speaking about remote start) side-note, didnt know about the engine disabler
so take your time, think it thru and do it once.. then when your all finished - test it out in your school (i got a huge high school, so just make sure it can range from one end to the other) get a buddy to help ya. because if it doesnt send to your remote while it's being triggered, someone (like me) can just remove the alarm completely and just throw it off the bike
i think it's on 5 (the max).. if you get 5 feet near the bike, it should chirp at you... i put the sensor underneath the seat itself because it's fabric and plastic which can scan the central area of the bike instead of the back-end only. I still haven't had time to call scorpio alarm about a signal booster on the range for the pager -
also Dont leave your pager on the key ring - it will vibrate the pager which eventually break it from the bike's RPM - mine just malfunction on the 4th of july and now got to buy another pager - put it in your jacket or on your backpack (or tank bag)
Hey soon I'll be adding a video within the next 2 months showing how to install one of these systems so stay in touch and thanks for posting this video!
also test out your alarm system before you actually let it hang out at school.. make sure it will reach that range. my alarm actually broke (the remote in my hand, too much vibration from the bike - probbly just rattled the sh*t out of it) so need to buy a new one, and the other problem is my range on it.. it doesnt go very far for me. but once again - mine was in the glove compartment..
just FYI - the antenna doesn't need to be sticking out. When i had the scorpio alarm system, i was testing how far i can arm and dis-arm it. Today I actually have it ripped out (I dropped the remote in the toilet when i was drunk and taking a leak haha) I'm kind-of looking into something a little more convenient to my needs (no remote) becuase... A) remote is usually connected to your key which rattles like a bitch at 12k rpms B) chance of losing/dropping/breaking it
But for some reason the signal is not sent to my pager when it was been triggered by someone getting close to it. It seems like the antenna is not positioned right (i totally dis-regarded the instructions and went horiziontal instead of vertical like it should be with the antenna) so it seems that's probbly why. But i'm going to call them and ask if i could put a signal booster on the tail for better range.. it's still a good alarm, just the pager is getting me worried
not really.. i been really lazy since the winter. But give me a couple of days to work on it.. I'll get a vid of it.. I work at an office everyday and it seems like alot of people chirp my perimeter for my bike (it's the sensor that if someone is leaning over my bike or getting even close to it - it tells them to "back off" with chirping) (which is in this vid)
but they say "it must be vertical as possible" but i'm not going to just let it stick up out of the bike like an antenna. So i ran the line in the right side of the compartment but it's 180 degrees but 90 - so i think im defeating the purpose..
turn down the sensitivity - i had the perimeter sensor on 5 and i sat on the bike and had to move it before it set off. did you put it in the middle of the seat? i know alot of bikes can be different - also instead of putting your alarm in the cargo space, i would rethink it and put it on the fairing itself (hate to say it but it's way louder on fairing then in the golve compartment)
nope - this is would very bad for a bike because if you turned it off in 1st gear or something walked by and just shifted it down and you didnt know - when you remote start it, well lets say it will be ghost rider for a sec. (not a good idea)
I have 04 CBR600RR so I was thinking it will be quite similar to your set up. Even some slide shows will help. I havent done this kind of stuff so afraid to open it up. The fucking mechanic is asking 250 for installing :(

some bikes also have a engine disabler when its in gear!

can aneone show the detailed installation procedure..thanks

sorry i've never hooked up the engine start (scorpio never came with one..)
tight
(it will still be ringing but hey i ripped mine out of my bike in a public place and no one really asked anything) so test test test..

better hope your bikes not in gear!!!
nothing is impossible.. but too much of a head-ache for me. see no point to auto-start
