    Where have you been all of my life?! Great review, here's why: you were very clear from the beginning exactly what information you were going to provide the viewer,
    and you succeeded on every point,
    you were clear, concise, and not wordy,
    you provided great information and backed it up by actually showing us the functions that you spoke of,
    you were interesting,
    you didn't waste my time,
    and you left me highly informed.
    You gave me lots of information to help me be at peace with whatever choice I decide to make regarding keeping my Note 4 Edge or upgrading to the Note 5.
    Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

    Easily the best comparison video between these two handsets that I've watched! Thank you for the hard work. I was originally hellbent on getting the Note 4 (because of the removable battery), but after watching this (and others), I'm definitely going with the Note 5. I will just have to look at storage options and figure out a way to optimize battery performance.

  • @meekacumen
    @meekacumen 9 ปีที่แล้ว +76

    i just cant be convinced that Samsung
    -reduces the size of the battery
    - removes the removable battery feature
    - removes the expandable storage option
    - does not increase screen size
    - does not increase resolution
    - does not increase pixel density of camera
    then releases this note 5 and calls it a upgrade from the note 4.
    i rooted my note 4 and added a dr.ketan rom that gave me all the features of the s6 months ago, so i have had the software upgrade running for months.
    Samsung have not sold me on this phone.
    i really enjoyed the comparison vid saki great work

      How and where did you get your note 4 rooted and dr. k rom?

    • @meekacumen
      @meekacumen 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      xda forum.
      dr.ketan rom includes s6 and note 4 features.
      i will be checking for note 5 rom for note 4.
      for rooting i watched youtube videos on how to do it. scary at first but just make sure you read all the instructions carefully and follow them step by step.

    Video extremely thorough and informative. It definitely made my decision easy. Since I don't use the game and music apps much at all I have little need for SD expansion. And I especially like the fingerprint efficiency and the wireless charging. Wireless charging seems to be the next generation phone charging service. As my previous LGG2 began to age I was feeling very uneasy when it came to charging the phone with the wire connection in particular in the dark ...Did I have it turned right and inserted properly, type things..... I'm definitely sold on the NOTE 5 by Samsung and I always admired the camera and phone of my wife's Galaxy 5.

    This guy clearly prefers the note 5, did you guys noticed how he clearly didn't positioned his finger in the middle of the scanner on the note 4 so the fingerprint doesn't work properly? I have the note 4 and I can say that with the 5.1.1 update the fingerprint scanner works seamlessly.

    another thing you lose is ease of mind. I'm in my last semester of undergrad and with walking across campus and sometimes needing to just throw my phone in my backpack naked or with a case, I know my note 4 is going to survive whatever I take it through. Not that I don't treat this phone like a child, but some days life gets hectic. That "premium build" on the note 5 is asking to be covered with an otterbox from my point of view and then the build becomes absolutely meaningless on most occasions, if not a hindrance. There aren't too many updates from the note 4 that would make me want to switch and I'm a fingerprint sensor and camera loving girl, but the note 4 beyond suffices for me. And as a college student who doesn't want to be plugged in but may need to "power use" my phone on certain days, expandable memory and a removable battery is kind of a necessity at this point in my life. The note 5 is beautiful and I know it's probably a great phone, it just isn't nearly as practical as the note 4.

    • @MasterOptimus85
      @MasterOptimus85 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Alex G yasssss im glad im note the only one that feels like this lol....most people i see with "premium builds" theire phones are shattered...when i throw on that case i doesn;t matter anymore...plus i need my zero lemon battery...i used to work 16hr days and i need as much life as i can get

    • @AlexS-df7qk
      @AlexS-df7qk 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +MasterOptimus85 well after I posted this I went and played with the note 5, and I might just be getting it, lol. It's still not as practical hardware wise, but software wise I really do like it better. Lollipop killed my note 4 in a lot of ways and I don't want to wait 3 more months for tmobile and Samsung to fix the issues. I may regret it later, but a good fingerprint sensor and badass camera may make it alright. Plus, I've put up with all of the note 4's problems for this long, so I'm just gonna jump ship, lol. Forgive me.

    • @MasterOptimus85
      @MasterOptimus85 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Alex G what did lollipop do....break it down for me lol....and i dont blame you i like the phone just still contemplating is it worth it

    • @AlexS-df7qk
      @AlexS-df7qk 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +MasterOptimus85 well my battery took the biggest hit and there is some kind of wifi bug for me, though it could just be my house's wifi honestly. I'm really over the recent apps lag and apps reloading especially since this is my last semester and I've decided to do everything on my phone this semester. The keyboard was crashing all the time, and I love the stock keyboard for the most part, but I think the stagefright update fixed that. It's still an awesome phone for the most part, and I will miss the removable battery and SD card expansion, but the lag and battery draining is getting to be too much. I almost got an iPhone because I was just so tired of it a few months ago, lol. But it will never be that bad. I think the note 5 is a great compromise so to speak.

    Why would I buy Note 5? Note 4 with Note 5 rom or with some other custom rom could be better, cheaper and more features. Note 4 with 128GB sdcard, and ZeroLemon battery is a beast, that's my opinion.

    This Samsung Note 5 is SO PERFECT except for two things. (Btw, I don't own a Samsung Galaxy Note 5)
    The back design- it's slippery, it's nice, but it's slippery.
    non-expandable SD storage- THIS IS KILLING ME. This is what's holding me back from choosing this phone. Like really, Samsung?

    The Note 5 does not have infrared blaster, micro SD card, and no removable battery. This is why I had no interest in getting a Note 5. I kept my Note 4 instead. Why pay more for a device that does less? I actually use the IR blaster a lot and my micro SD card. The removable battery is a huge plus because I always have one charging and simply swap out the battery when one gets low. I do not think I will be getting a Note 5 ever.

    Very good review. One thing though which may disappoint Samsung. Most reviewers forget to mention Samsung Pay on newer devices. Samsung clearly see this as the one of the main features which should distinguish it from their older devices. It was supposed to be so important to the rxtent pig overshadowing the lack of SD expansion and removable batteries on newer devices. Why are reviewers ignoring Samsung pay?

  • @oskathemighty
    @oskathemighty 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I was confused about which one to get for an upgrade, but I've made up my mind, Note 4 may not be as sparkly as the Note 5. But at least it's expandable... Maybe the Note six will be expandable..I personally think they blew it with Note 5 not being expandable.

  • @borjojo
    @borjojo 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have to agree, the IR blaster was a nifty feature, but the rest of the other issues like a removable battery can be answered by an external battery pack, and as for expandable storage one can use OTG drives/card readers.. more convenient in my opinion.. but somehow wished they'd gone with USB type C already though.

I read that it is strongly recommended to do so for any android phone.

    Wireless charging can be easily done buy changing Note 4's cover (like S-View wireless charging cover). Plus there is no IR on Note 5. I'd say if you want the "style" (which basically means you just want to show off and don't really use the phone that much) buy Note 5. If you use your phone all the time - buy Note 4.

    No memory slot and no IR sensor are deal breakers for me. Others have need for that battery changeability. The IR sensor also allows you to sense ambient temperature which can be quite useful at times.
    Wish you could shown the Note 5 running high video with the new video chip,
    I am sure the feel in the hands is important to some but everyone I know uses cases.

    Well, this review has missing parts. You can see he got sponsored to claim that note 5 is better bla bla bla. He missed out a very useful hardware, which is IR Blaster. I forgot where I keep my remote controlls of my TV's. Got the widget on the lockscreen in a bubble. So much faster and cleaner. And with lollipop 5.1 note 4 gets better score and faster SO.Also, the fingerprint scanner works 95% of the time, which is considered very good.

    The rom on Note 4 was also 5.0.1 vs. Note 5 5.1.1. I dont know if that helps speed.

    Im about to buy a Samsung note product for 1st time, but as I thought, note 4 is still the best. Note5 looks cool, if u have being using iPhones for a long period of time - I mean it looks more like of a contra model to Apple, then an improvement of Note4. I'm buying the 4th - leather on the back and chome frame...ahhh so cool

    I have the note 4 and the Samsung WiFi broadband that can plug in give more battery life if note 4 needs it.a flash drive could be used I believe with the note 5 and extra battery time plug Samsung broadband device in to the note 5 .would be great if you could have a built in hand crank charge device in all smartphones for emergency even a non cellular walkie talkie feature if cell phone outages in major quakes talk back and forth. I even thought how neat if you had 2 cell phones in one that could call the other in case you needed tech support to fix the other .also the color accuracy at sunsets was a problem at different focal lengths with what you see with your eye and what you see captured with the picture you take.very noticeable when you take pictures and notice as you tilt your camera you get different variations of what your eye sees and what the camera sees can be very different pictures of the sky a good test with sun in the background sunrise sunset oranges turn to yellows inaccurate color accuracy and also orange and reds.would be great dslr.built like as a camcorder with super zoom could take close ups of the moon ,stars,etc.more night vision capabilities needed.yiu have a rather large area on back of phones to include big wide camera lens could be compatible with a cannon or nihon in future.also the foreign language capabilities of having 2 phones in one and any languages on Google translate to be able to be learned and spoken out.if you travel would be a wiz if your phone could accurately translate and what about the taking videos problem if you need a stand to extend and tilt your camera at yiu like if you record yourself playing piano and if your able to listen to any sound on your phone,music,speech able to play back slower faster speed controls over record and play back.another issue in color accuracy is neon lights so that between sunsets and nightime neon lights yiu could at least be able to capture what yiur eyes see or adjust edit color anywhere in the picture after or before pictures taken.more share via features would be great.

    Note5
    CONS:
    -No SD
    -No replace battery?
    -Breakable non replacable rear glass. Why introduce another repair variable on something you don't need to..Without even a repair option?
    -Front face cam is not a plus with increase rez, unless you're supermodel. Lower can be easier on the eyes for those selfies or vid chats.
    -Less actual batter power
    _Also not mentioned you lose the remote/IR Blaster
    PROS:
    -Sketch direct without launch is nice
    -Wireless charge is nice
    -Looks a touch better. They missed the chance of using an alloy back which would have been great.
    -Less bloatware ?
    -Snappier- faster
    That lack of SD slot and glass sealed back is a deal breaker!

    you can use an expandable flash drive for the note 5. there are different ones that can help expand the memory for pictures, movies and music

      +cybertec69 it still works and won't get corrupted. I agree with you though and wish it still had the sd card but I still love the note 5 more and is ok using a flash drive instead

      my point on that is I shouldn't have to do that with a 800 phone. that's something that should have never been taken away. 250 dollar phones have expandable storage. but a 800 dollar phone had it in its previous models then takes it away? makes absolutely no sense!

    Im an existing note 3 user and after watching this, i think im upgrading to note 4. I just cant accept the fact that theres no micro sd expansion. I love storing music and vidros so this is a huge letdown of note 5 unfortunately.

    When note 4 came out, it was an upgrade of everything completely. Note 5 is also an upgrade but in some areas... and downgrade in many... therefore im sticking with 4

    I prefer the Note 4 with expandable memory and the option to the change battery, i think Samsung is making a big mistake with its new phones, taking these options away, they are trying to be more like the Apple Iphone.
