We bought one and let me tell you something, i hung right up there in the woods with the can am and the razor. People were blown away by this machine. Yes its not the fastest but its so comfortable after a long day riding it you wont even care.
I thought it was very comfortable. The Wolverine R-Spec also has a highly adjustable suspension so you can soften or harden the ride if you want something specific.
not trying to be negative but I was looking for an HONEST review... I felt like i Just watched the YAMAHA RELEASE videos all over again with the same answers... Next time tell the good and the bad not just the same thing they already told us.. people r wanting to buy this machine and your review need to let them know all aspects of the unit.
RicksRides1 Thanks for your feedback. I didn't get it on camera and that is why it is not in the video. I will fix that in future videos. The two things I didn't like was the amount of wheel rotation to get the tires to turn. The second was the amount of EPS assist at slower speeds. I am being picky on that last one. Most people will probably not mind, but it is extremely light. I told Yamaha about that first one because it is irritating on tight trails where you are going around trees constantly. Overall, it is a great machine for a recreation side-by-side. The suspension is the standout feature of the Wolverine. I almost bought one of these before going w an outlander at a steal of a price. I loved the way it rode. Way better ride than the pioneer 1000 (not biased. I love Honda), but it does lack in a bit of power. I'd buy this if I were just looking for putting around or casual fun. You're not going to throw rooster tails or win races but it is really comfortable
have one purchased for my wife it is not the fastest but for what it is will keep up with all the other machines other than a flat drag race she loves it and for the money it's hard to beat
Last week Yamaha released a "teaser" video of a machine that is slated to come out in September, and all signs point to a Pure Sport side-by-side. You can see the video here th-cam.com/video/kFeiAPzUXzk/w-d-xo.html and let us know what you think! We believe that is a RZR eating this machine's dust.
+hydroboy35th I just figured it out....These Polaris mouths have all the time in the world to trash talk because their rzrs are all in the shop to fix all the broken crap that Polaris puts into them in Mexico..........
Sounds like Yamaha paid you for this silly review. It is obvious that this thing does not ride anywhere near as good as a Polaris or Can-am. It is also under powered and spartan along with being ugly. The only people that will buy these are Yamaha fan boys or old Rhino owners that have been waiting on anything from Yamaha. No chance of pulling any market share from Polaris or Can-am with this thing.
boltactionshooter I appreciate your thoughts, though I can assure you Yamaha didn't pay us for this review ;). The Wolverine does have the best supspension in its class...which is a Polaris RZR, Commander 800, Teryx, and Pioneer. It has more travel than any of these side-by-sides, and that translates into a better ride. The suspension is the best part of this machine, and it has the travel-feel similar to a RZR S. For what it is designed for, it doesn't feel like it is under powered when you drive it. It doesn't have the power of any of the side-by-sides above with the exception of the Pioneer. It will not win any races with a RZR or Commander, and Yamaha didn't design it to compete in the power department. As far as looks... well...we got nothing ;)

Ross Bainbridge NOt the fastest but for a recreation side-by-side it is comfortable and extremely capable
+ATV Escape are these comfortable after a day of riding?

Buy a rzr if you want a pos that breaks all the time. Buy a yamaha if you want reliability and quality

Looks awesome!
Any option for fully covered canvas?
I don't believe they offer a full covered canvas, but they offer bits and pieces of a roof, windshield, canvas and rear sides.

ATV Escape If you have been holding your breath for a Yamaha Pure Sport side-by-side...it appears the wait is nearly over.
The best review is that 80% of anything Polaris is junk, and all Japanese atvs has forever been number 1, buy yamaha if you want any resale at all
eps should be included in the overall price should not be an option as kawasakibhas done follow suit and upgrade from there and people will follow
I'm glad it has cup holders.....:)
all the haters go check out the yamaha yxz1000
Drove it. Love the hell out of it- if I lived in the desert i'd have one but I run right trails and slow areas. That manual trans would kill me
turn down the music.
Yamaha could blow Can-am and Polaris away if they really wanted to, just don't know why they wont?
Tim Janssen Good one!
Tim Janssen just wait another month (September 1st) and you will see them release something comparible
Cool, thanks for the heads up. Always was a Yamaha fan.
+Tim Janssen For the market they built this for..They have already blown Can Am and Polaris away!!!
dam this is amazing
What a joke lol, buy a RZR or Can-am if you want a real SXS.
+hydroboy35th I just figured it out....These Polaris mouths have all the time in the world to trash talk because their rzrs are all in the shop to fix all the broken crap that Polaris puts into them in Mexico..........

boltactionshooter compare it to the rzr 570/s, wildcat trail, maverick xc, teryx
Honda just raised the bar far above everyone with the new Pioneer 1000s. Everyone will be playing catch up now.
boltactionshooter I wouldnt say that but that 6 speed tranny is slick as fuck.
boltactionshooter That's for sure
So cheap
Pathetic single not v
that thing sucks ass
+lrgman1313 HOW DO YOU KNOW??? How many do you have???
so cheap and plain get it together yamaha oh wait you can't cause you are not polaris haha
Polaris, sucks big time, Yamaha is king when it come to reliability
