This dropped one day after I got mine installed! I found penetrating oil very handy for removing the o-ring connections in the block and turbo. Also, I drained the coolant from the furthest rear coolant line, lost about 1.5 gallons. And, wise to others watching; penetrating oil on the manifold nuts first and definitely a good idea to have new studs, and an e-torx 6 just in case the studs still come with the nut so you can separate them if needed. Great video as usual guys, thanks!
My big turbo is coming in the next days and this is exactly what I needed to get a overview what I have to do. Thanks a lot guys and all the Best from Germany! 👋😃
Woke up, got a coffee , family member smacked it out of cup holder and splashed all over my center console , dash, radio, steering wheel, carpet etc in my dream car that I finally obtained recently, 2011 335 m-sport . Now I need to replace gear indicator unit since it’s malfunctioning. Car was mint 10/10 before , I’m so devastated
As I am watching and enjoying this great video I noticed the tatty. AWESOME!!!! Wow. SO much easier than the N54. You could do this job in a days shift or even less for an experienced person.
Love your videos! I'm moving up from an 540i to an M550i and curious to know if you guys do any work on the N63. Would love to use your videos to mod the m550i
Slightly off line question. I am about to do the downpipe on my B58 switching to a boost logic. Should I be replacing that metal ring gasket that you did for the turbo upgrade? I don't think I had one in my package
Do precision raceworks port injection next :). then tell Paul Johnson to tune the car and dont go above 600ftlb torque so the engine/trans can live happy
How hard is this job for an average person? I just installed twin turbos on my 335i n54 that was pretty hard to do on jack stands in a garage. I want a 340 one day though and will probably do this at home as well.
Downpipe gasket, all new O-rings for turbo lines, manifold gasket, new manifold nuts and finally the mounting bracket bolts where the manifold sits in, which I did not replace on mine. Very complete kit.
Not with the pure800. It's the OEM turbo bored out and given different internals/turbines to increase flow. Yes, it's a tiny bit more laggy, but I'd say it's negligible, though I have mine installed for 2 days now, pro tune on the 12th. We'll see!
A 10? You mean a 10mm socket? How am I supposed to find one of those?!! They always get lost before I can use them!!! lol A great video BTW...Isaiah 6:8 FTW
what's the point of all these mechanical parts and complexity? an ICE has 2000 moving parts compared to 20 in an electric engine and the model 3 can do 0-60 in 3.4 secs for godsakes lololol
Clearly a millennial here. Let me explain. First the model 3 performance is an 11.7-11.8 1/4 mile car. I’ve seen quite a few real world tests. These cars with awd sand b58 can do 10’s with a few mods. That’s night and day. Furthermore the b58 sounds great the Tesla makes no sound. Sound is very much a part of a race cars driving experience… no sound and it’s rather boring and I dont care how good it accelerates we have more senses than nerves in our butts. Lastly, and thus ties into what I just said, we like to tune our motors whether that’s a new turbo, exhaust, intake, etc that’s part of the fun. With an ice car the options are much less compromised. Want to make 1,000 hp sure you can build that. One thing you electric fanatics seem to forget is that gasoline has about 50x the energy density as the best lithium ion battery. What that means is that if you want to go anywhere the car will weigh much more usually in the neighborhood of 1,000 lbs more compared to its ice counterpart. So, while you talk about the electric motors being wonderful and they are to an extent batteries frankly suck!
That was a great professional video. Beautifully explained and detailed. It's great to see someone who knows what they are doing. Well done!!

I didn’t see a whole lot of coolant drain from the lines. Did I miss something?
So much nicer to do then the n54. One day I'll have a b58 :)
Not to be rude but It's funny how u say that because the N54 is actually nicer to do it on.
N54 better than b58 tbh
@@xMaxLoverx1 b58 way more reliable
@@rabbitolychee6395 nicer in what way? Having to drop the entire subframe and dealing with double the amount of oil and coolant lines? 😂
@@kc2213Haven't even watched the video and I know damn well this will be easier than an N54.

Oh god you just had to upload this. My exact car and the project I’ve been thinking about doing 😂
Thanks guys love the content
Bell gang 🛎!!! God bless this channel and they’re families ❤️
Thank you Brian. Great video and product. I appreciate you calling out the bolt sizes and tightening torque values.
Excellent! No fluff! I like it.
woke up, got coffee, new video today’s a good day
Everyday u wake up is a good day

I appreciate what you are doing for this bmw country
Bringing the big whoosh baby!
love your videos man... great job....
always got the best tutorials
Fantastic Bro !
Great video brother like always, can’t wait you install one for me!
Where are you guys located to go and tuned my bmw ?
Exceptional video. Thank you very much. Is the procedure the same for the B57 diesel?
3000 8mils ha ha ha! You're awesome man! Been considering a Pure800. Thanks for the video.
As I am watching and enjoying this great video I noticed the tatty. AWESOME!!!! Wow. SO much easier than the N54. You could do this job in a days shift or even less for an experienced person.
what oil are you giving into the turbo before mounting it?
THANX FOR THAT!!!🎇🎇🎇🎇
Awesome video really enjoyed it you are so knowledgeable Brian 🏴👍🇬🇧👍
Start to finish, how long did this take? I got a G01 M40i ordered and this is a definite must do.
Is the first gen b58 worth it to get compared to the 2nd? Up in Canada you can get a used f30 340i for about half the price as a new g20
Love your videos! I'm moving up from an 540i to an M550i and curious to know if you guys do any work on the N63. Would love to use your videos to mod the m550i
When pure installed is it good to replace the oem intercooler or they are prety good
Wow awesome great job
How's turbo lag and spool time with the new turbo?
Did you have to recalibrate the waste gate ?
At what RPM you get full boost from the bigger turbo?
4000ish. It's laggier than stock but not terribly.
BMW Surgery! 👍🏼
Can you lube the coolant line o rings with oil or how do you lube them up?
Coolant works well.
What if I had a dinan carbon fibre inlet can I still use it ?
Cuantos caballos de más conseguiste con ese pure 800?
Don’t even own 340 anymore but still watched the whole video lol
hey bryan is the turbo install process similar on the n20 engine?
bro, where did you buy the enlarged intake pipe?
cool vid, did u make a tuning vid and drive after
wow does this kit fit into a BMW Z4 M40i?
Ohh babyy!!
Hey Kies, how long would you say this took to get turbo off and back on?
Where did you get the clear MST cover?!
Kies website. It's an add on when you purchase the mst intake
Number 1😜👏💣
Same process for the G01 M40i?
Slightly off line question. I am about to do the downpipe on my B58 switching to a boost logic. Should I be replacing that metal ring gasket that you did for the turbo upgrade? I don't think I had one in my package
Generally u should replace it but as long as you haven’t damaged it at all it should be fine
It works the same way with the pure 900 right?😅
Where can I buy such a silicone intake pipe?
Did you ever post the dyno day of this turbo?
Can you install this turbo on X5 with B58?
Um the 340i 2017 is b58 no?
Yessir
i having trouble with my Media system, my Bluetooth is not working, i cant play music using Bluetooth, can you make video about this?
Do precision raceworks port injection next :). then tell Paul Johnson to tune the car and dont go above 600ftlb torque so the engine/trans can live happy
600ftlb at the wheels?
@@alexk4804 yes
Does the m5 get a different version of the ZF? It does fine with 750nm stock
@wethomas3 yes, m5 has the ZF8HP70 I believe. 340i only gets the ZF8HP50
Can i put that turbo on my 2013 328i n26. I just picked it up for my fun car. Or can you recommend alternative? Looking for larger then stock
What about a 2017 bmw 760xi
Any sale on these bad boys coming up?
Could you also do a turbo upgrade for a B48 in the G20
Wow not many tutorials showing how the clips all work good stuff
What is that little 1/4 drive ratchet n bits your using?
Idk if it’s actually quarter drive but it’s super small n convenient
Kies motorsport, every time I see the name I think it's a Dutch company.
So i guess this is what i should do to my 540i
When's the dyno day video coming? :D
How hard is this job for an average person? I just installed twin turbos on my 335i n54 that was pretty hard to do on jack stands in a garage. I want a 340 one day though and will probably do this at home as well.
If you could do the N54s, then these b58s are a piece of cake
What’s included when you add a pure install kit with the turbo? Is that the o-rings and new hardware?
Downpipe gasket, all new O-rings for turbo lines, manifold gasket, new manifold nuts and finally the mounting bracket bolts where the manifold sits in, which I did not replace on mine. Very complete kit.
making me second guess getting an f80 lol this looks massively easier to modify
WOuld like to see 0-30 times, for drivability. Generally you lose lowe end and responsiveness with larger turbos.

Looks like you broke the clip at 4:22.
Nightmare fuel install made easy by kies
24,9 Nm - Never heard about such strange numbers
Can i install that turbo for n55
No Bov?
Where can i get that clear intake cover
Kies website
How many hp is it going to make ? I have a m135i xdrive, and i am thinking in upgrading the turbo :)
Atleast 550-600 hp on e85 on the pure800. But pump gas wise like low 500 hp.
Who else is still waiting on N55 Pure800 release ? 😪😴?
Looks easier than n54 turbo
Will this fit a F30 328i xdrive?
😭 no this is the B58 not the N20
Its funny tho I got a f30 328i xdrive too what year u got
A 10? You mean a 10mm socket? How am I supposed to find one of those?!! They always get lost before I can use them!!! lol
A great video BTW...Isaiah 6:8 FTW
You need to buy them in bulk. I hear Harbor Freight is getting them by the dozen pack now. LOL. Or here in Canada by the beer case.
What about for x3 m40 😂
👍👍👍
Dude if you pick a torque wrench an oil change at an actual dealership you’re gonna starve 😅
🥇
FAKE video, not a single bolt broke, and not a single dollar has been put in swear jar.
Okay as i posted this he broke the bolt. My bad 😩
Just some rags, uses nothing but microfibers lol.

Model 3 is for soccer mums and people who like going in a straight line. No audible experience, no car feel. Feels like driving a 3.4 sec Camry. Pass
