Myanmar conflict: Fighting continues despite Chinese-brokered ceasefire

- Myanmar's military government has extended the country's state of emergency for six months.
Despite that, a Chinese-brokered ceasefire with rebel fighters in northern Myanmar seems unlikely to hold.
The announcement came just ahead of the third anniversary of the military coup and means elections will be delayed.
It also comes as neighbouring China is increasingly being affected by fighting with rebel forces near the border.
Al Jazeera’s Katrina Yu reports from the town of Ruili on China’s southwestern border with Myanmar.

It was during a period of mass protests prior to the eruption of full-fledged armed resistance. In response to the military and police fatally shooting protesters a few days earlier, the demonstrators resorted to employing homemade air rifles and fireworks as means of fighting back.

Have you heard that the junta using jet fighters to bomb not the rebel camps but the villages including schools. Many were killed and many were injured and many children's turn to be orphans. Does the rebel have jet fighters, tanks or missiles, mainly food soldiers. Very curious how the world especially united nations, icj view what is happening in Myanmar? Genocide? Is this a fair war or fair fight and the bombs that are released onto the villages and killing childrens and the villagers why it was not considered under the case of genocide? Do we really need all those judges from icj on the recent genocide case and only need to be invited to view such cases?

The United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Italy and Canada have stopped funding the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine (UNRWA).
According to the BBC, Western countries took this step after UNRWA announced the dismissal of some of their staff for their involvement in the attack by the Palestinian independence group Hamas, which entered southern Israel on October 7 last year.
The US State Department announced the temporary suspension of funding to the United Nations relief agency for Palestinian refugees last Friday after it announced the opening of an investigation into allegations of involvement in Hamas attacks against some of its employees. Then the rest of the countries followed the same path. The Netherlands and Finland recently followed suit on Saturday.
UNRWA says it has ordered an investigation into the information provided by Israel. The UN Secretary General said he was shocked by such news.
The UK Foreign Office also said in a statement, “The UK is shocked to hear of allegations that UNRWA staff were involved in attacks by Hamas in Israel. The UK government has always condemned the attack by Hamas as a heinous terrorist attack.
"The UK is reviewing these allegations which are concerning. Therefore, for the time being, any funding to UNRWA is being withheld."
Meanwhile, the European Union (EU) has also said it will take further action based on the results of a full investigation.

CCP is waiting for the right opportunity to occupy Myanmar once their military is significantly weakened by the rebel forces. They did the same East Turkestan and are waiting to do the same to Taiwan and eventually Myanmar.
That would be political and diplomatic suicide. They pride themselves on not interfering in other affairs. Even if the country is close to them. Thus, this will further cement the western world distrust or destroy any image of China refraining from other affairs. In other words, it would become the one thing it swore never to be.
