Rita Fairclough slaps Sharon Gaskell (1 November 1982)

Rita's foster daughter Sharon has fallen for Brian Tilsley and began to take an interest in him by babysitting baby Nicky. After presenting Brian with a keyring as a birthday present, he realised things were going too far. Sharon then stole a photograph of Brian and Gail realised she was just a teenager with a crush and nothing serious. Rita finally tackled Sharon about it who said she and Brian were in love and that Brian had initiated it. Sharon refuses to give Brian up or to leave him alone. When Sharon tells Rita that she's a hypocrite she slaps her face and storms out.
