Lol I posted this video 4 years ago and people are still arguing about the wave size. The forecast called for 8-12ft that day, but I agree nothing in the video showed that. Still wow, I love all the attention either way, never thought playing in the ocean would get 39k views. I was ignorant to be in there without fins btw, Eddie would not have approved.
And to those who speculate that I don't surf, you are correct. I'm from the Detroit area Michigan, grew up playing ice hockey in the winter, and water skiing/wake boarding in the summers. I do want to go back to Hawaii and learn one day before my ass gets too old.
I love getting fucked up by those waves at Waimea. I usually encounter 10-15 foot waves because of how far out i go. Me and my friends just let the waves hit us and throw us around under the water. It's fun to try and swim under them too. They throw you around and even out of the water sometimes. (speaking from experience XD.)
Not about the actual size but Man u guys got it gravy those waves look great to me especially how they break swimming Los Angeles I'd takem all day than waiting 15 20 mins much props to Islanders for the making it look easy those are big in the summer out here winter waves are a different beast hate cold water.
Lost UR breath? At Santa Monica in Cali, a 4-5 foot wave came in and I was facing away from the beach like I was facing the shore with my back faced to the beach, and that wave came in, took me in the water. Grinned me on the sea floor and scratched me with sands, and I came to take a breath, another wave dropped on my head, I took in water, started drowning, and finally the 3 wave was small and pushed me more up the shore where I stood up and started breathing my ass off
Chase Coquet no they aren’t. I’ve been to Waimea Bay several times and the waves there actually were 12 feet. I’m not saying the waves in the video are 12 feet but they aren’t 10 feet either. By my standards those are. Probably 3-4 feet.
closer to 4
those waves are like 4 ft definitely not 8-12 ft

As mentioned before, these are not even close to 8'. But it sure gets that big at Waimea. 12 ' would be a heck of a thunderous show though

When a big wave come you need to go under it and not jump above the wave. The only problem is to be heated by the ground.
