Thanks for sharing your story! I am 3 years keto and 2 years post-op weightloss surgery (duodenal switch). I started keto the day of my consultation appointment to prepare for surgery and the eating lifestyle most appropriate for my surgery. I lost 100 pounds in 9 months before my surgery. 425 to 173 pounds and counting! Keto + wls has been a powerful combo for me and my bloodwork is phenomenal! I am now on my plastics journey. I am 3 weeks post-op tummy tuck. ❤️
If you have a problem with food, if you binge eat, if you've ever hidden food, if you've ever gone to a drive thru and ordered multiple value meals and they're all and you ate them all in a sitting, please heed this advice; see a therapist to find out where your food issues stems from. I'm anorexic and gaining weight is a paralyzing fear of mine. I've known so many people that have had gastric bypass/sleeve and did well. I know others that gained it all back or lost so little because they didn't follow the diet or exercise. Now they feel worse and their health is horrible. I helped my friend the first few days and she was in so much pain. I can't imagine going through that all for nothing. But it often is a food addiction they can't control. These days gastric bypass/sleeve is done for pretty much anyone. Many doctors offices don't follow closely the 6 month rule, have lax rules about the pre-op diet which hurts you in the long run. So the better prepared you are before, you can set yourself up for success.
At our facility we do have requirements for 30+ BMI, we rarely take lower BMI cases. We also have a surgeon look through your previous health history to see if you would qualify for this surgery. We are with you every step of the process with a nutritionist and past-patient coordinators so they are able to help guide through the journey.
@@Mexicobariatriccenter That's wonderful to hear. A very close friend had it and I was so against it. I did tons of research on it, watching TH-cam videos, getting advice from people who had it. What worked best and what they regretted. My friend barely followed the 6 month diet prior to surgery, she only had to drink liquids 3 days before the actual surgery. And the nutritionist appointment was a joke. No one explained vitamins and supplements just sent her a piece a paper 20 days after surgery. She's 3 months post op and Little Debbie snack cakes by the box and cheeseburgers. I'm so scared she's going to be malnourished and her organs are going to fail. The women in this video aren't obese by any means. They look healthy and that they make good choices. I wish my friend could just see that. I know I'm one to talk. It's easier on the other side, I recognize when I'm at a healthy weight. Stress causes me to stop eating. I'm aware of it from years of therapy and work to control it. Your weight loss center sounds like you care about the person as who they are and who they become. The States are all about the money. Thank you for explaining it to me.
@@lucyinthesky4682 Thank you for the kind words! Yes, we do care for our patients and check up with them post-op. I would recommend that she get with a nutritionist whether its with the company or outside of that to start a healthy meal plan. Getting weight loss surgery is definitely a big lifestyle change and she would need to change her eating habits. I wish her luck on her journey!
You are so right I have my procedure done at Kaiser and the anesthesia said did you follow the guideline? I said I sure did because he told me there was a gentleman to get his surgery come to find out he had chili and they had to cancel his surgery.😮😮

How do you feel about vitamin patches instead of chewable vitamins?
Hi there! We actually have a blog post all about vitamin patches: mexicobariatriccenter.com/vitamin-patches-after-bariatric-surgery/
You are so right I have my procedure done at Kaiser and the anesthesia said did you follow the guideline? I said I sure did because he told me there was a gentleman to get his surgery come to find out he had chili and they had to cancel his surgery.😮😮
Yess following the guide line is important! ☺
was popcorn the problem or the oil? 39 g is 110 calories. microwave it. isn't it really about CICO in the end?
What about zero sugar protein Gatorade or I have herd doctors say light crystal light
Hi Todd, zero sugar gatorade or sugar-free crystal light will work for your bariatric diet! 🤩
The woman on the left had 2 surgeries?
