Saw Chris in 94 or 5 in Detroit, while he was promoting Texas Sugar and he was incredible! It was in an old theatre and he kept playing until everyone was ready to go. Seriously, he just kept coming out until there was maybe 50 of us left and his final finale was a 17 min version of Wish You Were Here. Never forget it!
Thanks Rick!!! I think we were at the next table over from you at this show! Thankfully we got to see chris 3 times last year! He is one of the most unbelievable musical/guitar talents on this earth!!! Always grateful to experience his show and thankfully there’s people like you that make it possible to see the replay!! Thank you!!
Chris Duarte is a great player but this show ranks 3/10. -5 for not being able to tune your instrument, or to be in tune to the bass player and -2 for using a pickup band who aren't blues players to match your caliber.
Chris is from San Antonio but was an Austin based talent for years.Stevie influenced MANY and Chris was a huge fan(who wasn't?), but his talent stands on it's own. Your "tone" on your comment wreaks of sarcasm. This dude can play with any blues player..........anywhere.
Chris takes all influences and Stevie is a big one but too say he needs credit him is way off! He would be the first to credit Stevie with about a 100 other influences. Check out interviews and such and you will find out who he really is!! One of the hardest working musicians alive that keeps a musical spirit alive as well as Texas spirit alive that nobody can touch!! Nobody is as dedicated as Chris!!! He is a gift!!
Love the Texas Sugar classics! Chris is the best!
Chris is great RAW BLUES What a gifted blues man
Very inspiring player and musician overall. Open-minded bluesman like Duarte are always a delight to listen to.

Opening tune needs credited to SRV. How unoriginal.
