Lover, one lovely day Love came, planning to stay Green Dolphin Street supplied the setting The setting for nights beyond forgetting And through these moments apart memories live in my heart When I recall the love I found on I could kiss the ground on Green Dolphin Street
I had this on VHS , and actually used a simulcast from my local PBS radio and TV stations. It sounded just like this ! I think George was nominated for a Grammy with this ensemble, there is a studio CD release of this project. The studio project and this video was after Basie passed away and Frank Foster was the director/arranger/leader - this is some of the best Benson I've ever heard or seen !
Two of my favorite: George Benson and Freddie Green!
