Brilliant Install tutorial. I could have done mine a little differently from what I learned here. I really like the side mount bracket rather than the hood mound I presently have. Sure do like the JL programable switches. Very nice!

We planned on using a velcro mount for the radio and he changed his mind and wanted the bracket screwed in. Should have covered that detail in the video.

I know this is 8 months old and you probably have found a suitable mount but since this is a highly informative video I wanted to add this info. They make no drill brackets that mount to the bolt right beside where he mounted the radio and put the radio in the same location he did.

Where did you get the bracket? What brand? If you use a random spacer is the bolt long enough to secure tightly?

I too wouild like to know. It needs to have a 3/4" hole. I can find brackets but they have 3/8 holes. Let me know what you did please.

Where did you get the bracket for antenna?

I loved the start of this install and the care you were taking to run the antenna co-ax, all out of sight without drilling any holes..
I was therefore shocked where you decided to mount the main body of the radio. I believe the radio is a Midland MXT275? If so, all the controls are on the mic so you could have completely hidden the small main body..There must be somewhere behind one of those kick panels it could have been secreted away? You can even buy a standard network extender cable to extend the cable to the mic....

The funny thing is, I tried to talk him into putting it out of sight. It did kind of mess up an otherwise nice instal but that's where he wanted it so that's where it went.

Wondering if you have advice on wire routing for an antenna wire from a roof rack mount? Assuming antenna is above either the driver or passenger door?

About the only thing you can do is run it through the door. The door seal will usually allow enough give to make it work. I avoid mounting them up there for that reason. Just not a good option.

I assume you meant bracket? If so, we used something like this.
