If you want a true opaque black, get black Bulk Apothecary has bulk pigments very inexpensively, 1 pound (453 grams) for $21.60 usd, though I don't know if they ship to Greece, but they do have a true black. Nice pricing and experiment Bela 😊
Here is a funny thing that happened to me, I wanted some powder coating paint to do an inlay using my laser engraver (powder paint which is usually used on car parts when heated it cures) the powder paint I received was used to make water colours ( thats what I get for not reading the description) anyhow I look for a local company online that sells powder coating and find one that sells just clear gloss powder thinking the same thing as you, what happen if I mix both the water colour pigment and the clear gloss powder coating.. well it actually works and works great.. now I have 1 kilo of the primary colours plus black and white and 1 kilo of gloss powder coat all of which will last a life time.
I needed some deep blue color, I went to Home Depot paint department. I explained that I needed a lot. They emptied one of the sample paint containers,, about $1.00 each. They filled it with just blue tint! About 8oz for $1.00. What they could also do is make custom colors, for a gallon of paint, but omit the actual paint, just charge you for the tint in one of their sample jars. Go late or early so there are no other customers waiting.
Green is my favore color of all time, I'm going to do a lot of research during my craftless season of life and see how to source these things here in the US cause I know that mixing these powders with a small amout of part b will create a paste that when stored propperly will keep for a very long time and then also mix up smoothly with out the clumping and sinking. Bela you are an Original Rockstar my friend.
What an awesome find Bela. I could literally cry over the amount that I have spent over the past year for pigment colours to use in my resin. You can use a strainer like a little tea one to remove the tiny lumps in the pigment. Just getting anything these days in Northern Ireland is becoming a nightmare because nobody is willing to post to us because of the new rules. Another great video, Bela. ❤
For black, maybe try Pebeo Fluid Resin Pigments (20mL) - each tube costs a little but you only ever need a few of drops - the best thing is, you can also make transparent or solid colours depending on how many drops you use and you can mix them as you wish
I've decided. i work in a paint shop. when i fill the machines with tinter, im going to scrape the dregs out of the containers. then try them out. liquid concentrate. spreads like a biatch when i drop a litre.
I had/have a 1/2 ton of pigment from soap making of 12 yrs with 1/2 current cost and with you 100%! Also acrylic paint bottles 😂 Currently coloring lime wash paint for newly plastered room wall, so colorant coming out my ears.😮 Watched 1 commercial for you 😂 Our budget sux! ❤
I love experimenting and I found what I think is a killer deal on mica powder. I won't share the website unless you say it is ok. Now I don't use large quantities so their sample bags last me a long time.
I havent tried this yet, but the pigments we use are marked makeup grade, i wonder what will happen when i try powdered eye shadow, blush in with the resin? I have many makeup pallets from various sources, with lots of unused powder. Maybe that is what I need to play with this week. Its not pure pigment, but the experiment is worth sacrificing some resin.
I have been searching cheap pigments for ages cos in Ireland it's a pain to get it (postage then taxes) that is inspired!! Not me shouting at the screen don't put more in it's too much.. Brilliant
im just exploring temu to be totally honest with you. it is really cheap yea! but what do you do when you need actual volume and not a rando sample pack?
@@AeginaCraft I didn't buy it like in big volume cause these small bottles of 10/20 g are enough for me, but on aliexpress you can get 500g of epoxy pigment color for like 30€ or 1 kg of that construction pigment for 25-30€ but I think that construction pigment is not good cause it's not as "smooth" as epoxy pigment powder + it does not have shine and glare as the epoxy one have.

The more popular this craft becomes the more expensive the products become. - supply and demand.

@@AeginaCraft I use Mad Mica. They have sample bags for around 1.50 US. For small hobby people like myself they are plenty. A 1 ounce jar is 6-7 US.
