I've been playing MP 60s for the past 10 years. Grew up playing Hogan Apex blades, switched to Ping irons in 1998 (18 Hdc). After an initial 10 stroke drop in my handicap (8-10) my game fell apart. Could not feel the shots and control slowly went away and I was lucky to brake 90. Then about 10 years ago I saw the MP 60s on Craigslist list for $200. The look and feel was a breath of fresh air. My hdcp is now in the single digits and going lower. There's nothing better than the feel of a Mizuno iron.

Got a set of mp60’s in 2010 for free from a member when I started the game and started caddying. Won’t ever change, they’ve taught me how to strike the ball and now I have a consistent swing and game. Best irons ever. I don’t ever want to change them. Nothing feels like a mizuno

I have some TAylormade 300 forged irons that have been forged by Miura they are 18 years old. They feel superb and fly the ball really well..Only thing I would be checking is the lofts because older forged clubs lofts weaken over time with hitting balls...some of mine were 3 degrees weak!! Than the spec sheet.....I would love them Mizuno if I win them they look mint condition

I started golf in 2016. I was 28 at the time. I come from ice hockey background so striking the golf ball with a "stick" felt natural for me. I went online and bought a set of lh titleist 981 dci 2-pw made in 1998 for 80 dollars CDN. Got my handicapp down to 13 with those irons. I replaced them with the 714 cb forged this year which I bought for 300 CDN off craigslist. 714 feels the same as the dci. Maybe a touch more forgiving. I still have the 2 iron dci in my bag. As much as the manufacturer talk about improving club technology, I believe it's just marketing. Some of my friends didn't even know I changed clubs just by glancing at my bag as they look very similar to each other. If you want to play on a budget, you may want to purchase any high end irons from 10-20 years ago. Just spend the rest of the money left over on lessons or more rounds of golf. Any titleist cb , mizuno mp, are crafted just as good as any irons made currently. My playing partner plays scratch and he plays with ping eye 2 and that set is well over 30 years old. (He has gotten them reshaft ed however)

I use to own a set of the Mizuno MP-60s, and then I sold them to a police officer that was a regular at the driving range that I visited often. I ended up buying the Mizuno MP-67s brand new shortly after I sold the MP-60 and still own the MP-67s to this day.

Great deal. I picked up a set from Ebay for 73£ inc. postage, so same sort of deal. Specifically I wanted Mizuno blades or shallow cavities on Dynamic Lite stiff. I had to regrip them (25£, do that myself) and add some weights. So total an awesome set of irons for 100£.
They feel like butter, shape the ball exactly like intended, they're not too hard to play, Sure you will find they play a bit shorter than modern clubs, but that's mostly because the loft has gone done year on year and now you find that the 7 iron is 32-33 degrees, not the 35 of the MP60.

I bought a set of MP60 in 2008 and still play them. I love them. Only irons that could change my mind about keeping the MP60 til the end of my life could be the MP20. They look stunning. I would feel bad though to give my beloved MP60 away.

I am a 15hcp and you are totally right, this irons gives you plenty of feedback. If you hit them off center and especially in cold weather, you feel it from your hands up trough your arns and down your spine. I like that, because it lets me try everything to hit them better. If you hit them well, it is such a nice feel, like a hit knife through butter. Maybe my score would be better with cavity backs, but I love the look and feel of those MP60, so would never want to exchange them by cavities. Golf for me is all about fun and looking at those nice clubs and playing them makes fun.

I recently sold my old Callaway Steelheads (graphite) for $100. When the kid (he was about 14) showed up, I liked him and he was struggling to afford by mowing lawns, so I threw in 2 old King Cobra fairway woods and an old i3 lob wedge I had and gave him some used balls. As a member, I get free range balls, so he meets me about twice a week and I snag him a free bucket. I hope to see him on TV someday.

A Joy to see those clubs in your hands. I love Mizuno irons, nothing feels better - as long as you find the sweet spot. Five years ago I had to give up golf due to a major heart problem. I was three handicap and my irons were Mizuno MP60. I gave them away because I thought my golfing days were over. But thanks to the genius of a heart surgeon in Cambridge I survived and am now starting to play golf again. So thank you for featuring those gorgeous irons. It takes me back to such happy times, and yes for sure I will be trying to win them when the time comes.

I used to shoot around 100-120 with Taylormade burner 2.0 and I flushed my 7-iron about 180 yds. I'd love to see a video on the benefits/limitations of those clubs i.e. what would Rory lose by playing a set of game improvement irons over a blade and what would I, as a mid-high handicapper, lose/gain by switching to a blade/low handicapper set of clubs. Thanks for the vid. Really like this concept. Love the Mizuno irons. Not a single handicap yet but hé, it gives me an other challenge! Next up....bargain balls.

Awesome work, I just brought the older Mizunos but don’t regret it what so ever

Love this video mate, you should try a cheap ball or refurbished ball too see what the spin and distances are like and if it’s worth buying new golf balls 👍🏼 plus, my 4 iron snapped the other day so looking for a new set 👏🏼 keep the quality videos coming 👌🏼

Great deal! My younger brother played these before he passed away from the covid shot last year. Enjoy! Or I'll take em! Ian

Those Mizuno MP60 look beautiful, but would look even better in my bag! I'd want to see what your favorite bargain putter is in the next bargain review. Thanks for the great video!

Dynamic Gold R300 shafts are no slouch. That’s a great set of clubs that you have to hit on the screws.

That’s a great deal mate, I’m really enjoying your content and would like to see a review on maybe some cheap woods that work well for low handicappers like myself.

Those MP60s are GORGEOUS! Hell no you didn't get ripped! I play off a 7 with 30 year old Pings, so I believe I could handle those. Bit of a budget golfer myself! But not by choice ;)
I reckon you could probably make a thrift store golf video, no? I see sets out at thrift shops for under 10 bucks! Build a high handicap thrift store set, that'd be a challenge.

Wow what a price. Unbelievable.as a young golfer with limited funds I have to use Dunlop clubs and would really love to see a comparison of a full set to a good set

Those Mizunos look phenomenal. Would be great to see a female beginner set and what (if any) considerations need to be given.

Great video showing how older irons are still very reliable. Maybe a video of your favorite training aids or drills you use to stay sharp.

I love this set!!! When I was looking for new irons these were also in the equation. We also had a pretty sick deal. Mp-30 blades 1 - pw, S300 shaft they feel amazing. We got them for 250 from an old tour pro
