Snakes go into buckets! 😳 get a 5gal bucket with lid, drop into bucket to transport to release area. Drop and dash until snake slithers away!

A good idea is a recessed shelf in the shower. They are great for storing shampoo etc, they don’t stick out either where you can belt your Elbows. Great job 👏
I was thinking the same thing. Under the window would be a great spot I reckon.
12:23 Just a suggestion from experience ... take pictures of your puddles! It makes a great frame of reference for when you're trying to figure out where to reconfigure your land/patio for proper drainage. It will help to know where the puddles "were" unless you plan to do all your measuring and marking in the rain. (Works well when the poop pumper comes to drain your septic, too, which we did so we know where to dig to find the opening in four years.)
Occy is such a character, and always so happy. Great job with the window and wall, looking forward to seeing the rest of the build. I do still love the outhouse though.❤️

Have you thought about doing a dutch door for the outside bathroom? Both the top and bottom open independently. This would give different levels of privacy for people that need it.

Well Done Max on handling the snake. Like the new window just hope you've not robbed yourself of too much light with such a small window. Also when you check back on the video there was a clink of light on the right hand side of the wall, you don't want the bugs getting in again.

I have watched hours of videos of homesteaders in Western North Carolina, who have been greatly affected by the hurricane Helene. They definitely are taking advantage of taking note of which way water flows on the property and really preparing for the worst for the future. Storms around the world are definitely increasingly becoming worse and more frequent. Better to prepare that now than as an afterthought and there’s so much damage.

I grew up in Hawaii, and we always put ours in a dark room to ripen them.
We kept them in the butlers pantry where there were no windows.

Really enjoy watching you create this beautiful life in the rain forest. Once the bathroom is complete what about moving the washer & dryer off the front porch? Before starting any major projects, you might want to take some time and tidy up all the loose ends. When you were standing in the hall above the door behind you daylight was shining through to the left of the picture - why not fill that in. Also, the peninsula that houses the stove the back is exposed - why not put a board there to finish it off, maybe with some cool tile or wood treatment. Also, many of the trees had a lot of dead wood - best to trim those up so they don't do any damage when it storms. Not meant to be critical, you have this amazing property it deserves to look the best it can.
