Definitely need to get all four of the hobbits together for an episode. Or really any of the other cast members. Would love to see Viggo, Orlando, Sean Bean, Karl, Liv. All of them!
@@PylonsHockey watched it when it was live. Not the same thing and not what I'm asking for. Asking for them to appear on the pod cast, individually (except for all four hobbits). Not a huge mash of 15 different people talking in a very small time window

It was beautiful to hear what Sean's dad John Astin said about how "no one is a piece on a chessboard, every human interaction is sacred," and extremely touching that Sean tries to make all the fan interactions about the fans. Not that I think, as a fan, that everything needs to be about ME. Just that Sean Astin is an admirable person and I need to incorporate his philosophy into my own interactions with people.
I have to say, as someone that will happily watch the extended editions of Lord of the Rings, you guys could definitely run this podcast for three hours and keep me completely enraptured
Samwise Gamgee was my favorite character in the books, and Sean Astin did a beautiful job with the character. He still brings me to tears many times in the movie, esecially on Mount Doom, where he was talking about Rosie Cotton. Tears, I tell you!
OMG I melted when Sean came on! I had the honor of meeting him at the first ever LOTR convention and he was the most humble, sweetest and loveliest of humans. I gushed to him how much his performance of Sam meant to me and he was so sweet. A gem (just like you both!). Thank you for having him on Dom and Bill!
I only appreciate Sean more after watching this. Also I genuinely didn't know he was fattened up purposefully. The end bit with the helicopters was hilarious !

It's nice to see actors like Sean recognizing the hell the crews are going through on films. Actors have long hours of course, but much of it is sitting and waiting and often what is best called 'academic' work. So while actors may suffer 14 hour days from the time they have to wake up to the time they are allowed to sleep, much of the crew is there hours before and hours after, often frantically grinding the entire time.
I literally CRIED, I was dying throughout the helicopter story and the thing that killed me was when Billy said that Sean had the Bunsen burner in one hand and the ping pong racket in the other one 😂😂😂 HOLY DAMN that was AWESOME!!! LOVE YOU GUYS
Sean Astin is such a delightful person. You guys have a way of making us feel like we were all on set with you. I never get tired of hearing about your time on set.
I usually listen to the podcast but I really needed to see the laughter of the boys when Sean was telling the helicopter story, so here I am... it does not disappoint! hahahaha
As someone who watched the "Fellowship of the Cast" segment on my FOTR EE dvd enough times that I could probably recite half of it to you from memory still 16 years later at this point some of these stories cropping up again has absolutely made my life! Sean Astin, by far the very best podcast thus far! Enjoy every single one but our Samwise is just the best. Love to hear him talk about his dear parents and his stories are epic. Billy and Dom laughing hysterically with Sean made my day. So glad there’ll be a part II.
Sean Astin's role in LotR was so powerful, and his sincerity, apparent work ethic and ideologies really seemed to have blended into Samwise to bring that role to life so vividly, I really feel as if I am just watching Samwise be interviewed.

Sean was a real dad on set. I’m not referring to his actual daughter, but his three sons: Billy, Elijah, and Dom
It's crazy to think he wasn't the oldest hobbit :D

In the DVD extras they all talk about how he was very safty focused and panicked whenever the other three hobbits were messing around.
