Thank you so much. With the rising cost of living and how that is affecting my disposable income I have more and more been buying "drug store" make up. And frankly, along with the benefit of being affordable, I have actually preferred the more affordable products. I have always refused to pay large amounts for mascara because high end wasn't really much different. But I have found foundations, blushes, lip products that rival high end. Now I am moving into eye product and this video was such gift. Thank you.
Here's your justification, Mandy: you buy the high end so you are able to show what's worth our coin and what we can skip using drugstore products instead. You save your audience so much money--and that's an incredible service you provide. Many thanks, as always.💕😘 However, what really interests me these days is the wear time. I find that's where the difference between high end and drugstore is very apparent. I would love it if you'd include wear time in these types of videos. Even revisiting previous dupe videos or showing other well-known or classic dupes (meaning they don't necessarily need to be the ones YOU'VE found) but with the wear-time twist is something very lacking in the TH-cam space. It could be a great series and something that could bring lots of new eyes to the channel! I hope you'd consider doing something like that. Much love, Mandy! ❤️❤️❤️
These dupes are great! And the Elf bronzer looks perfect on you - the CT bronzer looks a little greyish compared to the Elf and at the $40 savings that’s a win- win!!👍🏻
Physicians Formula has gorgeous blushes, as do Essence & Wet n Wild, Milani & Flower. If you haven’t tried their powder blushes (or even cream in some), you definitely should!
Yes! I love Physicians Formula blush/bronzer/highlighters. There is ampallete on Amazon for like $15 that has 2 of each in the pallete and a pallete for each finish.
Maybe my eyes aren't as fine-tuned, but I just can't see a difference in these - they both look amazing. Your comparison videos are SO helpful and make me feel really good about not getting hung up on the marketing ploy of '$$$ is better'. Another fun one, Mandy, thanks as always!
You can get more use from your Elf Palette. It has 4 shades so you can mix them to make them lighter or darker. I use my lid to mix those. I hope that helps you use all of them.
I am so happy to hear you say you are going to get back to your drugstore content... I enjoy it all and have products from most price points, but your drugstore content is my favorite, and I have really been missing it. I kind of think, everyone does high end, and you have a great eye for really great drugstore makeup. Add to that the impending (so they say) food shortages, energy shortages, and impending job losses coming this winter, we all need to tighten our belts 😳😬
I like the "drugstore side" better, it is amazing how well you chose these products. You are so beautiful and talented; it is a joy to watch you. Thank you for sharing, it does make you wonder, as you said, is it really worth spending so much money on these high-end products?
I guessed high end was the right hand side, the eyeshadow is popping more than the left side. I would love an end of day check in for these types of dupe videos because things can go downhill fast with some drugstore products. Some have okay longevity but others are rubbish particularly eyeshadow palettes and foundations. That being said I use the wet n wild dewy foundation and it’s good!!
Right. I feel like I spend extra on the pricier makeup because it wears better. I work full time plus, so I need my makeup to be flawless all day with no touch ups. I don’t feel drugstore holds up like the luxury brands do.
I’m with you. In recent years I’ve gotten sucked into the higher end products, but I’m done. Drugstore has so many great products, there is no reason to pay for marketing and packaging!
@@Mrstriplejranch I used to buy mostly high end in my 20s because at that time I felt like it was truly superior to drugstore makeup. These days you can find makeup that is just as good, even better at times than high end. And now you can return/exchange anything if it doesn't work for you.
I stopped buying drugstore blushes years ago bc they would fade away to nothing. I think that they’ve upped their game according to the reviews. I just bought an Almay blush (in the shade Nearly Nude 100) on Morgan Turner’s review and I’m so impressed!
Milani has some good ones but if you want quality blush, I'd recommend The Balm. It's an in-between brand, not high end, but definitely not cheap. I think Walgreens has it now.
Hmmm I always see drugstore products being applied with high end brushes and sponges.... If I'm not buying high end makeup I'm also not going to buy high end brushes or sponges. I mention it because when I spent some good money on brushes my makeup application (of my same products) improved so so much and nobody talks about it!
The expensive brushes are worth the investment! With some exceptions, I feel that buying the good brush (Rephr, Sonia G, BK, etc.) is better than buying the pricey blush! 🤔🤓💸❤️
I’m enjoying your lessons. Love the dupes! Mandy do you ever review products for cleansing and skin care? I often avoid makeup for fear of removing it!

Absolutely amazing !!!! Love those excellent dupes. Can you please list also cruelty free dupes? Some of the items here are and some not and I would love to see only cruelty free dupes 🐾💜
Each high end product is roughly 5x the price of a drugstore one. The lip products less. The eyeshadow skewed the average! Or in other words, you can have 5x as much makeup if you buy affordable options. You can buy a LOT of setting spray and still save.
This was good. You might use different brushes for the different eyeshadow pallets. People are weird about crossover. I bet if you added a little setting spray to your brush for the WnW shimmers it would match even more. Just found your channel and really enjoying it! 🥰
Yes Ma'am, I am impressed. I have used some high-end products...I was Not impressed. I think if I had not seen you apply these products I would not have known. You look so pretty.

Yeah drugstore eyeshadow never has any longevity on my oily hooded eyelids, whereas I can get 8 hour wear from high end eyeshadows. I'm wondering if the drugstore side will still look as good as the high end in 4 hours' time. Would love to see a wear test!
@@geniej2378 There's only one thing that high end genuinely does better imo, and that's eyeshadow, primarily for the reason you state. I use the other shades in the elf palette the white one as a highlighter or to tone down something that’s too Glimmery. I also use the darker shades as a grease or outer corner or even a liner for my eyes. Sometimes I use it as a contour but I do try and use our shades and I’m a light medium in the winter and more of a medium in the summer. This summer with my gardening even with sunscreen I went almost medium tan for my arms and neck I had to really dark and up my face to match my neck and everything else
I’ve used that Elf contour palette for years and like it just as much as any other cream bronzer products I’ve tried (not many actually because I am satisfied with what I have). For me the money drain comes from buying way way too much stuff. I don’t buy much luxury makeup; I can’t stand to spend that much money. Your makeup is gorgeous on both sides!
Right is high end. I've bout the ABH brow freeze twice and both pots have dried up and turned white. Never again. I'm stuck on Got2Be, my brows do NOT move with that stuff.
Oohh, also I have an eyeshadow primer dupe-but-better!.... I think the ColourPop Party Proof eyeshadow primer is really similar to but even better on textured lids than Urban Decay Primer Potion. It has a smoothing effect I really like and shadows grip to it well. 💕
Is it translucent like the UD? I've thought about trying it, but I really need something that would also cancel the discoloration on my eyelids as well as the smoothing/stickiness that comes from a great eye primer.
@@katieharris7219 it is slightly semi-transparent. I find the CP primer has a kind of blurring effect while also gripping shadows. It does not have a lot of color to it.

How do people not understand by now that high-end makeup is just low-end makeup (regular makeup) in expensive packaging and expensive marketing campaigns, esp when a celebrity attached to it???
I'm watching you for the first time! I love my Charlotte Tilbury lipstick, but I'm sold on elf! Over the last year, I've tried so many elf products and colors - and it's so easy due to the cost. I've purchased on the elf website during 2 different 60% off sales and the products are $2 and $3 dollars! I've found a few duds for me, but I'll pitch them and try again for the price.
I'm definitely an Elf convert. I read good things about their setting spray when I was planning my wedding makeup and from there I've just expanded to other things from tinted lip balms to concealer. I'm about 40% Elf, 40% Vichy, 10% Revolution.

And I use that exact wet & wild, & it's GREAT, SHE'S RIGHT. I'm shook.
Hi could you recommend me a good tinted moisturizer for senior skin?
Revlon makes my favorite lip products!!! They beat high end (on my lips) every time. Loreal is next :)
Hi Mandy, I loved this video. I also love the necklace you are wearing, so would you be willing to share where you got it from?
