The backgrounds for this game are pretty stellar.
4:53 Wait, what? The animators actually animated sight tracking for characters? That's actually a unique detail to implement in a 2D fighter.
As much as I love the style and art direction of World Heroes games, they were all over the place in terms of balance...
She was always cool. I wish snk added some of these fighters to KOF

Also, J.Max is secretly a lost Space Marine from the Salamander Chapter who was shot into the past during a warp jump, and thus couldn't return home and had to blend in with the normies. Prove me wrong.
She's basically Yawara (an anime manga about a pretty judo girl).
In Fighters History, the Data East game, there is also a Ryoko, that is based on the same real person. I dont know the details but i think the manga was inspired by her.
@@carlosaugusto9821 She might be based off Judo Queen Uta Abe from the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. But I thought this Ryoko and the Fighter's Generation Ryoko were from the same game publisher. Nope! 🙃

I am still hoping and waiting for SNK to make an updated version of the game.

Looks like they just took one of the goons from Streets of Rage when they made Jack.
I still don't get why in Capcom VS SNK, not a single character from World Heroes was used.
Very simple. World Heroes is NOT a Snk game. That's why World Heroes never got into KoF either: ADK (makers) didnt agree on it. But SNK really wanted to add WH.
Then ADK stopped making fgs in the late 90s, and in the 00s SNK aquired the rights to World Heroes brand. And that's why World Heroes was in Neogeo Battle Coliseum. But all that happened over the mid 00s, years after CvS.
So you can only make a correct criticism or demand about the time after KoF 11. At that point WH was already owned by SNK. So it's totally possible for WH to show up in KoF. (I have little hopes, but that's just me)
@@carlosaugusto9821 no stupid it is essentially an SNK. Read the description. They were responsible for the fighting aspect and helped the developers of this game. They don’t own rights but helped the fighting style improve which you can see their similarities from Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting.

Animation when she does her winning dialogue on each fight resembles a lot the bunny girl from daikon IV after the girl carry and trow a giant robot. A homage?
I really miss World Heroes. I played a lot of the Neo Geo version and later the almost perfect Saturn port. I believe this wouldn't sell a lot these days, even the main SNK franchise (KOF) doesn't sell that much so I believe we're never gonna see a new World Heroes. Well, let's at least hope for a WH team as a DLC for KOF XV (I know the timeline wouldn't make sense but a Samurai Shodown team is probably happening so why not)
