Thank you! I think I'm going to listen to this every day - it's something I need to absorb in my every single cell and molecule! I'm 74, spent 67 years as a Roman Catholic trying - and failing - to be good enough to earn my salvation. The good and merciful Lord finally led me out of that dreadful moral squirrel cage to a genuine faith in the finished work of Jesus. Thank you, and thank You Jesus!

      Greetings my beloved,
I am moved by your testimony to ask my beloved how you are 10 months after writing publicly
I pray your testimony give confidence to others to always trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ...
That communion with God has been and will always be by faith....trusting in Him.
Genesis 2:16-17 NKJV - And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; “but of the tree of the KNOWLEDGE of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”
Now that you have come back into the presence of God by trusting complete and absolutely in the Spirit of Grace, I pray that the Lord Jesus will help you to set aside any hurt or bitterness you may hold toward the Catholic church or any other sect that may have caused your conscience to be burdened....
After all God loves all in this way....He has forgiven everyone forever and never counts their sin against them.
That's His promise....He only asks one question....Do we believe Him?
Acts 7:59-60 NKJV - And they stoned Stephen as he was calling on God and saying, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” Then he knelt down and cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not charge them with this sin.” And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

      Thankyou my beloved,
Your kind and encouraging words are like food for my soul....Thankyou
If I can share openly with you...we do struggle in our carnal (natural/temporal/created) bodies to fathom the depth and riches of God's Love...
For instance if I proposed to you that God is Love and God is all and in all....would you believe it.
If I then said God is light amd in Him is life and He is the light of all men...would you believe it.
By extension if I then said because God is all in all and God is love and in God is life and in Him there is no death or darkness...that all live, would you believe it.
What if I said not "once saved always saved"....but rather "ALL SAVED"...would that offend you.
      Blessings to you my beloved....

      Ephesians 2:8-9
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-
Faith is a gift from God granted to those who have repented first.
9not by works, so that no one can boast.
Our works we've done regardless of how noble or much (Outside of Christ) are as filthy rags in God's eyes.
Paul makes clear that we are to do works in Christ.
Jesus says we are to do works (bear fruit) in His name.
      John 15:1-6
      Matthew 10:8
      Matthew 28:19
      John 14:12
      And More.
James and Paul are on the exact same page.
      Acts 26:20
But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God,(Believe) and do works meet for repentance.
Show your faith through your works (actions)
James 2:14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
      James 2:17-19
Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
18Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 19Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
      James 2:21-24
Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 22Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? 23And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. 24Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
Without works Abraham's faith would have been meaningless.
True repentance leads a person to acknowledge and renounce sin, to God and prove it with a 180-degree change of their lifes direction.
      Repentance requires true brokenness.
Repentance is not asking the Lord for forgiveness with the intent to go back to the sin(s) again.
Repentance is an honest, regretful acknowledgement of sin with a heartfelt desire to change.
      John 3:16
For so God (once loved) (past tense) the world that He gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believes (continues believing) present continuous tense in Him.
To believe is Faith produced by repentance.

      Read it carefully
      Ephesians 2:8
For by grace are ye saved through [ faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: ] Faith is the gift.
      Otherwise it would say
For by grace and faith are ye [ saved and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: ]
We don't do works for salvation.
We do works after salvation as Jesus says.
      Salvation can be forfeited.
      1Corinthians 9:27
No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.
      2 Peter 2:20-22
If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and are overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. 21It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. 22Of them the proverbs are true: “A dog returns to its vomit,” g and, “A sow that is washed returns to her wallowing in the mud.”
      Matthew 24:9-13
Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people 12Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.
      Colossians1:23
IF ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister.
      2 Timothy 2:12
      IF we endure,
we will also reign with him.
      If we disown him,
      he will also disown us;
If we deny Him he will deny us.
      There are many more.
      Osas doesn't appear in scripture.

Exactly. A question I have for Lordship Salvationists is this; if someone is completely disabled, bed ridden and not able to move or speak. They cannot physically do any works whatsoever, are they saved? Was the great price of Jesus not enough? Or shall you condemn a man because they cannot physically do works?

It's not at about physical work, it's about; If one is truly born again there will be evidence of a changed life.
      2 Corinthians 5:17.
If the Holy Spirit is indwelling the person that person will not be the same.
      Repentance must precede faith.
In other words a person cannot be saved if that person continues as they were before, in ongoing sin.

  • @winterpatriot1429

Yes, we believe - we believe in Jesus’ finished work on the cross - His death, burial and bodily resurrection for our justification, shedding His perfect blood as payment for our sins.
Because we believe in His SACRIFICE, we have the promise of everlasting life.
If someone doesn’t understand the Gospel, 1 Cor 15:1-4 (not John 3:16), and they subsequently don’t believe in His sacrifice, they don’t have everlasting life simply because they claim a promise. That’s the same thing as saying a person is saved because they said a prayer.
Agree 100% that “we” aren’t the assurance of salvation. Our assurance that we’re going to Heaven to be with the Lord for eternity is that we’ve believed the Gospel, thus receiving everlasting life.
    1) We hear the Gospel - 1 Cor 15:1-4
    2) We believe the Gospel - 1 Cor 15:1-4
    3) We’re sealed with the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption of the purchased possession (ourselves). Eph 1:13-14
Faith in a promise isn’t what saves. Faith in the shed blood of Jesus and His death, burial and resurrection for our justification is what saves. THEN we have the promise of everlasting life.
We need to make sure the object of our faith, trust, belief are in the correct place. And, that’s Christ Himself and what He did. We have the promise because we’ve believed in what He did for us. 👍

But believing in Jesus doesn't save. Believing "into" Jesus saves. The Greek word EIS has 2 different meanings. #1 EIS can mean "in," or #2 EIS can mean "into." The early interpretators used the word "in" instead of "into" when translating the bible. Maybe because they weren't born of God and therefore didn't have spiritual discernment?!(Devils tactics).
Here's an example....One person believes "in" the ocean by observing it from the shoreline, while another believed "into" the ocean and became immersed with it. Big difference. John 3 16 is .." whosoever believeth"into" Jesus should not perish...." The Recovery bible version corrects these. You have to believe "into" Jesus for salvation. Have to yield "into" life eternal (which is Jesus) and not just say you believe while standing away from Life eternal.

Believing in Christ entails commitment to Christ, trust in Christ, allegiance to Christ. God transforms us, though we are not perfected until Christ returns. The Scripture that Wilkins selectively quotes to his own ruin also says:
"Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals,
nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in the Spirit of our God." (1Co 6:9-11 NAS)
    And again:
"Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you just as I have forewarned you that those who practice such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God." (Gal 5:19-21 NAS)
Wilkins and his fellow "free-grace" (their term) advocates claim one and even deny Christ and persist in unbelief and rebellion against Him and yet receive eternal life because of a temporary false faith. But Jesus says: "Everyone therefore who shall confess Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven.
But whoever shall deny Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven." (Mat 10:32-33 NAS)

Romans 4:5-8- But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,
7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.
8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. God doesn't need your rags or attempts at righteousness to save you. You are saved by Grace. This means its not something you earned, it's the unmerited favor of God. He says anyone who believes in him will never die, not anyone who believes and him and stops sinning. Your sin will bring the chastisement of God but you will not be condemned and cannot be condemned if you believe in Christ and what he has accomplished for you.

Amen my beloved, so beautifully said....
The Gospel is good news, because it is for the assurance God wants all people to have regarding their eternal hope (Heaven).
God will write His instructions upon your heart for this life, its his promise.
My encouragement to the one who wrote the confession is to rest from your labours and trust in the miracles God will do in you by faith....
In a symbolic way Jesus determined by the Spirit of God that the scriptures would testify how many healing miracles He did on the Sabbath...
Symbolic because as you rest He works in you...
Commit it all to Him by faith and believe...He loves us far more than we can understand...
The Spirit that justified you will perfect you....
He knows its what you want and He wants to give you what you want....thus ask.
John 3:8 NKJV - “The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
BELIEVE, that's all He requires from you.

It would be good to rationalise the difference between belief and faith, I think this is what the book of James explains. Even demons believe. Faith is what you believe put into action. Can’t you tell someone’s beliefs via their actions? I think it could be best to analyse is there a difference between belief and faith

Without Faith, it is impossible to please God (Heb 11:6). By Grace, you are saved through Faith (Eph 2:8). This is the victory, which overcomes the world: Our Faith (1 John 5:4). What is this Faith in these verses? It is the Faith taught by the Catholic Church which Our Lord founded (Matt 16:18-19) and sent to teach all for salvation of souls until the end of the world (Matt 28:20, Mark 16:16).

To be saved, we must live by Faith in Jesus Christ (Gal 2:20) according to the teachings of the Church (Rom 6:17) and daily crucify the desires of the flesh, so that sin does not reign over our mortal bodies (Rom 6:12). St. Paul says, "You are slaves of the one you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience to Faith, which leads to righteousness (Rom 6:16)." Whoever sins belongs to the Devil and no one, who is begotten by God, commits sin (1 John 3:8-9).

Our Lord is the Head of His Church, which is His Body and His Bride, whom He saves (Eph 5:23), as He is the Good Shepherd who saves the sheep in His Only Fold (John 10:14-16, 27-28). That's why 'Extra Ecclesiam nulla salus (outside the Church, no salvation)' is a Catholic Dogma (Catechism #. 846). For further information on this, please watch The Forgotten Dogma: No Salvation Outside the Catholic Church by Father Isaac Mary Relyea on TH-cam. Why stay outside of His Sheepfold and risk your eternal salvation? Come quickly to His Fold before it is too late, so that you may hear His Voice, know and follow Him, and be saved by Him. Amen!

What do you feel when I drop a heart on this message? I assert from my experience in relationships with people and with God that. Both my emotions and my analytical mind benefit my faith in God. It is both beings in me that God created. In some ways, my emotions are stronger and vice versa. Have you ever seen anyone die/sacrifice/desire something to the end with logic / mind? I think they can do it even with emotions. It exists in human being. But the benefit is not to separate it, but to unite it for a pursuit that only God can see deep in the heart. V Therefore, He gave instructions when the disciples wanted to go and rebuke him because of that, He saw its near future.

Ironically, majority of Christians (Lordship people) seem to think they can be obedient enough, repent enough etc to have their salvation. Because if you ask them, they would say they are saved. They also would share the gospel this way- that a person not only needs to believe, John 3:16, but they also need to repent and obey. The gospel is under Siege.

John wants believers to be assured of salvation. First read 1 John 5:13
[These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God;] that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
The argument John is making here is first that everyone who believes in Jesus has been born of God (the new birth) Next everyone who loves the Father loves those who also have been born again. How do we know we love God as well as those who are His?
John explains how a true believer will be living.
What is the evidence of a true believer that John is talking about? Read from 1 John chapter 1 through 1 John 5:12 where he describes how a true believer will be living.
A summary of those preceding verses.
    1 John 1:6-7
(IF) we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.Ch.2:3-5
And hereby we do know that we know him, [IF] we keep his commandments.4He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. 9Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates a brother or sister is still in the darkness.15Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. 16For everything in the world-the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life-comes not from the Father but from the world. 17The world and its desires pass away, BUT WHOEVER DOES THE WILL OF GOD LIVES FOREVER.
29 If you know that he is righteous, you know that everyone who does what is right has been born of him.
    1 John 3:4-10
Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness5But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin. 6No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.
7Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. 8The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. 9No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. 10This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.
    1John 5:1-4
Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well. 2This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. 3In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, 4for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.

To believe that you are saved by Jesus is not what it means to believe in Jesus. To believe in Jesus is to believe in who he says he is. If you believe he is the Truth, then all of his words are true and we need to know and believe all his words to the point that they are the truth we are living out of. This includes repentance, baptism, obedience, sowing, etc. I am not saying it's faith + works= salvation. I'm saying that repentance, baptism, obedience, sowing are Christ's teachings, which are what we trust if we trust in Him. Why would we ignore the directions of someone who is the Way to God and then expect to arrive?
Repent, be baptized, and let Christ live through you starting today.
This video is not in line with the scriptures, which DO say to examine yourself to know whether or not you are in the faith. See 2 Corinthians 13:5. It's very important to examine yourself. Do you see Christ utilizing your body and tongue? You need to. Submit today and let the Spirit lead you.

Very intense discussion here in comments section, works, faith, salvation,,, promise, I'm not very well read in Holy Word, so I wont even touch in there, I'm quite newbie in my walk with Christ, I don't want to divert subject of discussion on my testimony, just explaining I'm born again, once lost and found sheep, called my Our Lord Savior 🙏 just wanted to add not scriptural ( from reason I stated above), but something to ponder about from life,. Some while ago in Grace church I used to attend ( cause had to change location for my family) I heard beautiful testimony on behalf of older brother's mother, who all her life was typical catholic church goer, more from tradition then anything else, though her son didn't miss opportunity to introduce Christ as her personal Savior. It just couldn't "click" with her after years of programming in Catholic church,,,but this brother, her son never gave up praying for her and "smuggling" teachings. Finally the old then lady, and sick in hospital, weak from hard life, finally she received Christ as her savior not long before she died...we all have tears in eyes listening to this touching story, so in this real life example - this old lady obviously didn't have works, cause she was in bondage to old religious system, but she came to faith before she died, so - does she have eternal life or not? We can think of many similar examples, what about real bad sinners on death row for example, which met gospel in prison and accepted it truly before he died? What about man on cross which hung beside Christ, ? I can multiple examples but point is the same,
I was lost in New Age philosophies, but always deep down felt protection and hand of Christ (was raised in Catholic church, but couldn't deal with it and rebel ), Lord himself called me back and I'm so grateful no words can describe, but it's process of deprogramming from all falsehoods and Holy Spirit leading ppl to sanctification, it's not like eastern mysticism - working your way to enlightenment, or have some satori moment and glowing, it's different for everyone, but we trust our Lord He does work in our hearts and minds. I can say for myself that I see big difference between myself year ago and today, and still it's lots of work until I die, but I know I'm in God's hand and no matter what happens He has me. Ofcourse I want be best as possible, but it's not possible in this world. We all make mistakes, apostles were having problems, demon in Peters was rebuked by Christ, Peter turn from Lord twice, many apostles didn't understood Christ at first and they were far from perfect, but in the end they died for faith.... it's only logical, if we Love our Savior, we want to bring Him best testimony through our lives, but to be on guard and thinking perfection is more in tune with eastern mysticism then Christ, which came for lost and sinners, not to perfect ppl which wouldn't need salvation then right? Call me stupid, but that's how I understand it ...

It is Christ's grace that saves, not works. However, He bestows this grace and salvation on genuine (not false) believers with a saving faith expressed through the loving care and charity shown to others.
Christ condemns hell believers who don't care about or help the sick, prisoners, and poor.
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven...
    Matt 7:21-27
... ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’...
    Matthew 25:31-36
What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?...
You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only...

What is certain from what Christ and the apostles wrote is that if you go on sinning on purpose (without repentance) and not helping the poor, you will sow what you reap. Goodbye
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers...nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.
      1 Cor 6:9,10
What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.
What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means! Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey-whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness? But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you have come to obey from your heart the pattern of teaching that has now claimed your allegiance.
      Romans 6:1,2, 14-17
Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

“I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’-and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked..."
      Rev 3:15-17
And which of you, having a servant plowing or tending sheep, will say to him when he has come in from the field, ‘Come at once and sit down to eat’? But will he not rather say to him, ‘Prepare something for my supper, and gird yourself and serve me till I have eaten and drunk, and afterward you will eat and drink’? Does he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded [a]him? I think not. He never once went to a scripture that directly addresses his title. 1st John chapter 3 verse 14. Thats how you know. Romans chapter 5 verse 5 explains how you can love the brethren. I implore all so-called believers to examine your hearts . Man looks at the outward appearance, but God sees the heart. If the Love of God is in your heart, then you know you know the you are saved. To believe and have faith in Jesus is obeying ... The Greek word is Pisteuio and means just that.
When we rely simply on the English version of believe, our faith can become transactional. Pisteuō is not a transactional term. It smacks of following (i.e., adhere to). Jesus didn’t invite people into a transaction. He invited people to follow him. Transactions tend to be clean and clear-cut. Following is messy (ask the original disciples!). Transactions are not relational. Following is highly relational. In my observation, western Christianity tends to lean transactional.

And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.
What was the word of God they spake to the jailer? We can surmise it was
to repent of sin since the next scripture says the jailer and all his were water baptized. We know Peter or Paul would only water baptize as the final part of repenting of sin.
33And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.
      Paul again
      Acts 22:16
And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.
This scripture is as close as any one scripture can be to the gospel in a nutshell.
      Acts 2:38
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
      1 Peter 3:20-21
Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. 21The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Remember even Jesus was water baptized to set an example for us.
      Matthew 3:14-17
But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? 15And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him. 16And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: 17And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Water baptism is the burying of the old sinful man and the rising of the new man.

Jesus nor Peter or Paul ever said Trust in Him for the forgiveness of sins.
      They all said Repent.
False teachers have changed Repent to Trust.
      Two different meanings.
Jesus's first command when He started His earthly ministry was Repent.
      Mark 1:15
The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”
      Matthew 4:17
Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.
      Peter: Acts 3:19
REPENT YE therefore, and be converted believe), that YOUR SINS MAY BE BLOTTED OUT, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.
      Acts 11:18
When they heard this, they had no further objections and praised God, saying, “So then, even to Gentiles God has granted repentance that leads to life.”
      Peter warns
      2 Peter's 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, NOT WILLING THAT ANY SHOULD PERISH, but that ALL SHOULD COME TO REPENTANCE
Peter is clear REPENT OR PERISH just as Jesus said in Luke 13:3
      Paul
      Acts 17:30
And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent.
      Acts 20:21
Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
      Acts 22:16
And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.
      Acts 26:20
But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.
      How to be saved
      Repent of sin.
Believe by faith that Jesus died was buried and rose again for our sins.
Be water baptized to complete repentance by the burying of the old sinful man and the rising of the new.
Receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
The only way to obtain grace is to repent of sin then by doing so we show the fruit of being a true believer.
To believe is faith produced by repentance.

Catholic apologist, Dr. Douglas Beaumont, claims that the experience of the Thief on the Cross supports Catholic teaching that faith plus works are required for salvation. Dr. Beaumont argues that the Thief on the Cross passage support the following:
      1. The Thief on the Cross was under the Old Covenant.
      2. The Thief on the Cross might have been baptized.
      3. The Thief on the Cross is an edge case.
      4. The Thief on the Cross is only one salvation example.
      5. The Thief on the Cross did exhibit faith and works.
Bob Wilkin of the Grace Evangelical Society examines these 5 points and shows that the experience of the Thief on the Cross supports salvation by faith alone in Jesus Christ alone for the free gift of everlasting life and the reward of ruling and reigning with Jesus for confessing Him.

SO I INFER THAT FAITH/BELIEVE IS A SYNONYM FOR OBEDIENCE WHICH YOU CALL WORKS -
so the evidence of one's character is that one believes (has faith in) in Jesus Christ -
To know one is saved one must not introspect or look within (one's works) but just BELIEVE that "God so loved the world that He.... that whosoever BELIEVES...."

Mat 3:8 Produce fruit, then, in keeping with repentance.
    What is that fruit?
There were many false prophets in the days of Jesus and they believed in the One true God is Israel but Jesus said ..
Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.
Mat 7:16 By their FRUIT you will recognize them. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?
Mat 7:21 Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
Mat 7:22 Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’
Mat 7:23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you workers of lawlessness!’
1Jn 2:3 BSB By this we can be sure that we have come to know Him: if we keep His commandments.
1Jn 2:4 BSB If anyone says, “I know Him,” but does not keep His commandments, he is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
Jud 1:4 For certain men have crept in among you unnoticed-ungodly ones who were designated long ago for condemnation. They turn the grace of our God into a license for immorality, and they deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
You may believe in Jesus Christ but which Jesus?

Bob Wilkin of the Grace Evangelical Society discusses Matt 7:15-20, "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits..." They show that Jesus is talking about identifying false prophets, not about having personal assurance of salvation.

Does Matthew 24:13 prove that once saved, always saved is false?
"But he who endures to the end shall be saved." - Matthew 24:13
Joe Schimmel and Zac Poonen claim in the "Once Saved Always Saved?" documentary film, that Matthew 24:13 shows that eternal security or once saved, always saved is untrue. Bob Wilkin of the Grace Evangelical Society looks at the context of Matthew 24:13 and demonstrates that Matthew 24:13 is not a reference to a believer's life, but instead is a reference to the Tribulation.
