@@cosmic_sky_mountain I may have misspoke or said it confusingly, I already am using the FireWire port on that computer for my audio interface, so wanted something to use the available Thunderbolt port. I love FireWire and still use a few pieces of FireWire gear even with my 2018 iMac with some Thunderbolt adapters to FireWire
Thanks man for the video. I have a macbook pro mid 2012 with catalina os 10.15v. The problem with my device is I cannot connect my canon 750d dslr to it or it is not detecting when i connect it to the thunderbolt device. Kindly suggest.
Thank you for the video. The mystery remains for me why a capture device like this one would not have SD 525 29,97 as an option. Why 60 fps is the given standard for native SD hi8 or VHS recoding, and not 29,97? thanks
Holy hell you are a life saver. I never tried just 1080i, and that did it!! 1080i at 59.94 is working perfectly. Thank you so so much, this has been bugging me for years why 1080 wouldn’t work on this device

I don't have much video/audio editing experience but this device was recommended by a reviewer on Amazon (in a 2012 review) as the Rolls Royce option for video quality. However, I read that it is not easy to set-up. Any thoughts?
Thanks for watching! So, I have some mixed feelings on the use of the Blackmagic Shuttle for what you are describing. It is a very high quality device that can do some awesome things. But if you are just wanting to convert some older analog media to digital, I don't think the cost and headaches with it's settings are worth it I've done some analog to digital conversions of old VHS's, and actually had better luck with something similar to this device: amzn.to/2ZfYHST I know this is MUCH cheaper, but for simply capturing old media, it does the job well Definitely feel free to message me or comment back with any further questions on this, I know the Shuttle Thunderbolt is a lot to deal with and not a cheap investment, so would love to help any way I can
The Intensity Shuttle will have black flashes when capturing old Worn out VHS tapes because the Intensity Shuttle needs a TBC. You have timing and sync issues. I have several videos on my channel about the Intensity. I think the Thunderbolt version is more problematic. i downloaded windows10 on my macbook it works better on windows obs. its recognized automatically
I would love to try that, especially since I have a Windows partition on my old Mac, but unfortunately my audio interface is MacOS exclusively :/
