Hey BFF, great reaction, you will notice in the video, you will even see black chicks back in the 50s going crazy over Elvis. He had a magnetism that transcended all races, the ladies loved him, and the men wanted to be him. Love you, my sis!

I am 80 and lived this. Back in the 50's white stations would not play black artist till Elvis changed that. He brought a lot of black artist to the mainstream. He was an advocate for many black artist like James Brown and Jackie Wilson. He was raised up in a poor black neighborhood during the great depression. He went to a black church and was great influenced by black gospel. He loved it and started out in gospel. He loved people and all the negative you hear about Elvis is from jealousy and hate. I loved your reaction. Thanks for showing proof of the greatness of Elvis. Be Blessed.

I'm biracial and was about 5 years old when I experienced racism for the first time. This was the 70s and a different time. I was in a small convenience store with my white dad. An old (he looked ancient to me) white man looked at me and then looked at my dad and said, "who's little n****r is that?" Without hesitation my pops says, "She was a gift from God to my wife and I!" And then pops leaned into the old buzzard and whispered something that I couldn't hear. Once I was older and we were talking about the incident he told me what he said. "If I see you out and I don't have my child, you better walk the other way or I'm going to teach you a rough lesson!" My pops was a badass till the end!

Awesome I was waiting for you to get to this video. It’s really eye opening and proves that this “GORGEOUS” man was definitely not racist and didn’t discriminate. But because he accepted the black community his own people turned on him. The beautiful fact is that he stayed true to himself and didn’t change or turn his back on the black community to fit in during that racist time period with his FINE A**😝🤣!

Elvis was SO important to the country. You saw all the old a**holes with their racist BS, and Elvis kicked them ALL in the face, and got so big that they couldn't hold him OR his message down. The funny part is, he didn't even know what his message was lol you saw the part with him on that phone saying "I don't feel I'm doing anything wrong", and he was being real. He never even considered feeling differently about skin color. WHY would you? He grew up in a poor spot. He grew up in the black community. He LOVED the black community, and his voice spoke loudly to spread love regardless of skin color, and that waas beautiful.

Elvis was born on January 8, 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi, in a 2 room shack of a house his dad built with money he borrowed from his boss. That's how dirt poor they were. He was one half of identical twins; the other boy - Jesse Garon - was stillborn. They were so poor, that Jesse Garon was buried in a shoebox in an unmarked grave. At Graceland they have a plaque with his name on it in his memory.
Elvis always got along with the black community and learned a lot about music from his friends of color. Also, according to the one drop rule, Elvis would not be considered white, since he has Cherokee ancestors on both the Smith (his mother) and the Presley (his father) sides of the family. His paternal grandfather, Jesse Dunning Presley, was not happy that his two sons, Elvis' father Vernon and his brother Vester, married two sisters, Gladys and Clettes who were known to have Cherokee blood in their family tree. J.D. Presley was quite the racist a-hole, often drunk and a philandering husband to Minnie Mae (they were actually separated long before they finally divorced in 1954) who was always competing with his sons Vester and Vernon and who was known to abuse his kids when drunk. J.D. was publicly against race mixing and was in denial about the Cherokee blood in his own family tree. It was more publicly known that the Smith family had Native blood in their family tree, so when both his sons fell for 2 Smith sisters and Vernon, on top of that, was still a minor at 17 when he eloped with Gladys who was 4 years older than him, Jesse was totally pissed off.
As a child, Elvis already had many friends in the black community at the time his family was one of 4 "white" families that lived in the predominantly black neighborhood The Hill, just across from Shake Rag. His childhood friend Sam Bell said that some of the (black) kids in that neighborhood had lighter skin than Elvis. One of Elvis' bodyguards once said that he thought it was a miracle Elvis got into Humes High School in Memphis, because it was "lily white". Elvis wanted to be more open about his Native ancestry, but his manager "colonel" Tom Parker (real name Andreas van Kuijk) was against it because he was afraid it might cost Elvis fans (and himself money). They did have Elvis play characters in his movies though where he had Native American blood (Flaming Star, G.I. Blues, Stay Away Joe). Once Elvis had his own (apprentice) job learning to be an electrician, he saved up his money and bought his clothes in the same style that many of his friends of color wore. He was called a (forgive me, just stating facts here) "n-lover" and got beaten up several times too. Later, when he was an established star, he would not perform at places where the members of color of his back-up band/orchestra weren't allowed.

There is so much more that Elvis supported and cared for all people. This is only just a little bit. If you needed help and Elvis heard of it. He would help. Elvis gave ,Money, Cars, jewellery, Houses. Payed many bills for anyone. And so much more. Muhammad Ali. James Brown. B.B. King, Little Richard. The list goes on, All spoke of their close friendship with Elvis.

The Rock and Roll genre wasn't CREATED by one race, it was created BY YOUNG PEOPLE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE of ALL RACES. Period.
I'll go deeper. Elvis MERGED elements of white, Spanish and black music genres together and created a new style and sound that YOUNG PEOPLE OF EVERY COLOR AND CREED LIKED and YEARNED FOR. Not just white kids... black young people too. Spanish young people too. Young people period. It was a youth revolution going on at the time.
Elvis is the only musician enshrined in these halls of fame: Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Country Music Hall of Fame, Rockabilly Hall of Fame, Gospel Hall of Fame, Honky Tonk Hall of Fame, Rhythm & Blues Music Hall of Fame, Christian Music Hall of Fame.
Rock and Roll was merged together with all these music genres: Country music, rockabilly and Honky Tonk are created by WHITE people.
The first commercial recording of what is widely considered to be the first country song featuring vocals and lyrics was Fiddlin' John Carson with "Little Log Cabin in the Lane" for Okeh Records on June 14, 1923. He was white.
Gospel music was about 50% BLACK and 50% WHITE. The first published use of the term "gospel music" appeared in 1874. The original gospel songs were written and composed by authors such as George F. Root, Philip Bliss, Charles H. Gabriel, William Howard Doane, and Fanny Crosby. All of them were white.
BLACK musicians invented the blues. I love the blues. William Christopher Handy was black. In 1912 he published “Memphis Blues,” now considered the first blues song. My point is simple. Educate yourself. Rock music is composed of multiple genres of music. Black and white and Spanish cultures and genres ... and others too, are important ingredients of Rock and Roll and American music as a whole.
The instruments and songwriters came from ALL OVER THE WORLD. R&R was YOUNG PEOPLE MUSIC created BY YOUNG PEOPLE of all races and marketed to YOUNG PEOPLE looking for a new sound and to revolt against the older generation.

Tcb stands for taking care of business he'd give his guy friends a necklace that had a lightning bolt in it which meant taking care or business in a flash he'd give the wives or girlfriends the same necklace but theres would say tlc tender loving care..

He wanted a signature to identify himself. He came up with TCB with a lightning bolt. In the early '70's when he signed his name on documents and papers it had TCB with a lightning bolt. It stands for Taking Care of Business in a flash because he was about to embark on non-stop touring schedules for several years. So he was having to be at different places in a hurry. In just a few years he added this symbol to his airplane jets, and had custom jewelry made and on some of his karate suits.

In 1972 (72 !?!)...Elvis was scheduled to perform at The Houston Astrodome and he was asked to leave his "black girls" home..(The Sweet Inspirations)..He told the promoter "If they don't play, I don't play."...Elvis rode those "black girls" out into the stadium in a convertible driven by a blond......😉

The daughter of the racist promoter drove, I believe! Elvis stood in the open-topped car, too and the Sweet Inspirations were seated in the back. It was a very clear statement without saying a word! There is some grainy footage on youtube of this event.

It really annoys me when people say Elvis stole Black music. But the likes of BB King and others never said he stole music. They loved him, EP jump started their careers

    • @matrix5000100
      @matrix5000100 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

@Will-nn3pb: They say it because they have no idea or just want to badmouth Elvis. I know some people who go to every Elvis site (youtube) and always say the same lie (they know it's a lie). They (often Michael Jackson fans) just want to write Elvis Presley lies. The truth is that during Elvis' time there was no other white artist who had as many fans and personal friends among the black population. It is also a fact that there are hundreds of statements from black artists, civil rights activists, etc. who said nothing but wonderful things about Elvis Presley. There isn't a single black person who said that Elvis stole black people's music. Apart from that, that would also be nonsense. Only a very small portion of the songs Elvis sang (5%) came from black songwriters. All of his number one hits (world record / most) were written by white people. Little Richard: "Without Elvis I wouldn't be able to walk down the street I'm walking today"! Chuck Berry: "Elvis is the greatest. There will never be anyone greater than Elvis Presley"! B.B.King: "In the 50s, Elvis always came over to us when we were playing music on the street. Elvis Presley was always one of us"! James Brown: "I wasn't just a fan of Elvis, we were brothers too"! I can't think of the name at the moment that said: "Elvis has done more for us blacks than any politician in this world"!

Quincy Jones refuses to talk about Elvis to this day. Some kind of bad blood between them. Judge Joe Brown says that Jones has a reputation for sleeping with young male artists that he produces, seducing them, propositioning them, etc.

Elvis got black artists recognized and exposure . The beatles especially caused black music neglected so that they had to turn to own radio stations. Btw, Rufus Thomas was playing Elvis records on black radio, despite being told to not . He said all music belongs to the people regardless of color.

The only label I like to slap on people is human. I've been trying to live by that my entire life but ignorance makes it a tough, tough fight. We've also been indoctrinated, all of us, to classify each other. Fear is a powerful emotion that drives ignorance and the need to throw everyone in the same box according to the many labels we place upon one another. In reality, it's just not that simple... but it makes it easy for people to deal with their fear. I wish more people would take the time to learn about the beautiful complexity of keeping it simple. Sure, it takes work and will power to think differently but it feels so good as a human being. As one of my favorite bands said "When you lose small mind, you free your life." It's so fucking true. #seehumanbehuman
I grew up with a father who looked and sounded just like Elvis so I grew up listening to Elvis. My father passed in March 2024 and I never thanked him for introducing me to this amazing human being. Thanks dad and I love and miss you so much.
