At the time this video was published, the GPi Case was sold out on Amazon. Apparently when it first launched, the initial batch sold out very quickly. I've been told that Retroflag is producing more, so if you want to pick one up, hang in there.
    Also, FIRST.

like how the intro in Tales of Phantasy for the SNES just couldn´t get the Voice in the Intro song to work correctly. (because spending 1/6 or so of the total ROM space for voice samples for your game is normal).

However, I’m not too impressed with the software stuff though. The thought of having to wait for the scripts to load on boot up, lack of a rechargeable battery, and the weird placement of the Land R is a bit of a turn off. Might be better off to buy a PS Vita with an oled screen. Easier to hack and has a lot of power to run a variety of emulators and ROMs.

Hmm, personally I prefer the PS Vita because of the much nicer screen. If you have interpolation anyway, it helps to have a high screen resolution to minimize the negative interpolation effects. PS Vita has a resolution of 960x540 which is more than double of the GPi's vertical resolution. I also have a PSP with 480x272 pixels, you see very clearly the difference in sharpness. So if you have to use interpolation, I would highly recommend to use a much higher resoltion than 320x240.

Hello Colin... sorry for the off topic... but I think.. that for the computers gaming community..... has been an important event this week... ... the first game developed fully by fans and amateurs has amazed us all.. again...... ..... more that 100 gameplays in youtube... more de 300 in twitch....... just take a look to this >> th-cam.com/video/OMtoMp_aBbI/w-d-xo.html ...... again made by fans.. professionals .. no doubt .. in their respective areas ... but not of the same gaming company... just people that love that game...

I think the battery solution is what kills it for me.

Liar. I put a Gameboy game in it and it worked just fine. 😊

You know, I'm not that big on emulation but having a PiZeroW laying around, I might just have to do this to test some games before making that big purchase for physical media.

The battery is a deal breaker for me

seems like an OK product, but not worth my money, when an Android phone, and a MOGA Hero controller are much easier to setup with tons more emulators that will run better, along with a better screen, and controller layout.

I'm not too much into RetroPI myself, but this looks awesome. If I didn't already have a bunch of gameboys, I'd definitely get one!

Hmmm....Raspberry Pi 3 Compute Module compatibility anyone?

I only wish RetroPie would remove all the verbose bootup stuff, nobody needs to see that. Put a simple looping animation so that we know that the emulator is loading up and it will be perfect.
But the GPi with the pogo pin set up is brilliant. Just amazing.

This can be done in the settings, but I agree it would be cleaner if enabled by default.

Way to expensive considering the pi zero is basically garbage for emulation, can get better performance from a $50 chinese handheld

The Best Handheld Emulator Ever? It's a big NO !
The price is not fair and this is not a "powerful" handheld console. It's just a well built GameBoy Zero with a better screen, but with TOTALLY dumb autonomy! For the price I prefer grab an rg350.

AA batteries at 2019? We are carzy? And, an screen with less than 3", could be enough.. may be (same as LDK???) but never with AA batteries. It has no sense actually.

If only it used the cm3, I think it would be perfect.

@@drsynthpattern you can add WiFi to the cm3, plus I prefer the usb method. The enhanced power more then makes up for the determent of not having WiFi built in. Plus it's using the same amount of power as the zero. At least from the tests I've seen. Gives you better results for a slightly longer setup is what I'm mainly saying. I have a Freeplay cm3.
