However the leader of the tribe 有窮氏 known as 后羿(Hou Yi) staged a coup and takes over the Xia Dynasty by exiling 太康,the third ruler of Xia.(太康失國) (Please be aware that in mythology, the Hou Yi who shoots down 9 suns and this guy who ruled Xia are different people, however in Touhou Project they are the same person) Due to 伯封 supporting 仲康/中康 (太康's brother), which made 后羿 unpleased, 伯封 was murdered. Then 后羿 force 玄妻 to marry him, after that, 后羿 became the ruler of Xia, yet he's quite fatuous. Although on the surface 玄妻 obeys 后羿, she absolutely hated him. 玄妻 then staged a coup with a treacherous minister 寒浞, who always wanted to reign the tribal territory of Xia. (后羿 trusted 寒浞 very much, in fact, 寒浞 does most of the work while 后羿 was absent because he's going hunting every day.) 玄妻 and 寒浞 then killed 后羿 (By "烹殺", which means boiling, or rather, cooking him alive to death. ), then they distributed 后羿's flesh to his son, but he wouldn't eat it. As a result, he was chopped into meat sauce. (I guess tribal-era Chinese love making people into food for whatever reason.) 玄妻 then married 寒浞,then she bears two sons with him (寒澆 and 寒豷).In the end, 寒浞 became the ruler of Xia, later changing the name of this country from Xia(夏) to Hán(寒) until 少康(太康's brother's grandson) overthrown him, thus Xia Dynasty was finally restored from this massive clusterfucc. But please take this story with a grain of salt. Since after some quick search online, I found multiple sources with highly different variations about this story. (For example, what happened to 后夔 [Touhou wiki was the only source stated that he was exiled by 后羿, although that should be 太康's fate. ] ; How was 伯封 murdered [Some claimed 伯封 was made into meat sauce/meat patties, while other sources claimed he was simply killed. ] ; How did 后羿 died [Some stated he was first brutally beaten to death by a bunch of sticks, then cooked, some stated that he was stabbed to death by 寒浞 when he saw 玄妻 and 寒浞 committing adultery.] ) .These factors not only confused me but also made the story somewhat untrustworthy. Not to mention the possibility of Xia Dynasty doesn't exist since there's no abundant evidence to prove it. Even if Xia and this story did exist, it might be highly mythical, even totally fabricated because just how long time ago this piece of "history" was. Nevertheless, it's still some interesting history, and I'm surprised that Zun took it as an inspiration to this character.

There are many high tier lunarians like yorihime even if a bit weaker that can punish her. I heard before kaguya was exiled she was actually executed many times over but couldn't kill her due to the elixirs efficiency. And since she is an important god of the moon rabbits her being in prison may be the best idea for..... Ever I guess. So punishment is on the table.
