    Update!!! The Mutants have been replaced after 8700 miles. By the time they came off they were down to 1.7mm (1mm being the minimum legal limit in the UK) on the rear. The rear had flattened off a bit but not as much as some other tyres and the wear was pretty uniform across the width of the tyre. My estimate would be that if I was to take the tyre down to 1mm I would have been able to get around 9300 which I think is ok for this kind of tyre. The grip still felt strong even in the wet. Would I have them again? Absolutely! Are they a good tyre for the BMW GSA/ GS undoubtedly. Thanks Mr Dave.

      Should I get a pair for my 2000 Honda Deauville ? What do you reckon? Is there a thing as a proper tire for the type of bike you are driving :?

    Got Mutant on my Versys 650. Best tire I have had on a road bike. I have had Michelin Pilot road 3 or 4, Pirelli Scorpion trail 2 (also a good tire) and some Dunlops 207, 208 etc.
    But the Mutant are something special

    Love these tires for my 2013 FZ6R. I got just over 8K on mine. Did really great on the dirt and gravel roads of Virginia, in wet and dry.

    I went from Dunlop Mutant, to Dunlop RoadSmart III, to now Dunlop RoadSmart IV GT on my VFR800X Crossrunner. The Mutant were great, but I like to test a new tire every time ahah.

    • @maxeaves
      @maxeaves 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@richarddelasalle3424Yes, they are great tyres. They will last you about 4,000-6000 miles depending on your riding style. I've used them for long trips and a track-day, so really good, grippy rubber. Good in the rain and wet. Ideal if you are heading to Scotland or somewhere were the roads are not good. They are ideal for trips in Northern Europe; not tested them in heat of Southern Europe. They are also M/S (mud/snow) rated (the only adventure tyres I've ever seen rated as this). Ideal for the KTM 1290 SAS. Back will square off first.

    After seeing your first review for these tyres I looked on line to see how much they would cost. But I was dismayed to find that the rear tyre was £173 quid. But the roadtec 01 purchased about 8 months ago was £165 quid. So I ask myself why are they more expensive than roadtec 01. At that price I will stick with roadtec 01.

    I’ve been looking for some new tyres for my s1xr it came with roadtec 01 tyres and they have no feel at all, they are still like new after 4000 miles.
    I think maybe Dunlop roadsport 4 or Michelin road 6

    I got about 9,500 km on the set I had fitted on the 701 SM in the touring I did a few years back I think they still use them and the Perelli Scorpions. I have booked another tour trip later in this year 4 weeks with a group of 15 riders. The reads here in the city are fab country roads are a train wreck, some one also they mentioned they have fitted factory some progressive handle bard progression damper in the raisers.
