i dont even remember leaving this comment, let alone any interaction with the guy from this band. 6 years ago i would have been 25 years old, and lemme tell ya i was a much different guy back then. I wouldn't say i was particularly malicious in nature, but definitely not as mindful of my words to be sure. young, dumb, not fully developed brain, ya know lol.
i think when i initially made this comment, the intention was probably me wanting him to just make a living off his music and tour and such, and not have to do another job because he's clearly extremely talented. but i can definitely see how this could be taken as a condescending remark as well. and you're right @ryan trost, that wasn't cool of me to put him on blast like that. it wasn't my place to share what he does outside of his music on this platform. You're right to call me out on that for sure. there were much better ways of expressing my excitement of meeting him irl than how i did it here, and I'm really sorry.
In any case, hope these guys are happy and doing well. And I'll definitely be listening to their stuff again because frankly this rules 🔥

The Lux the conventional interpretation would probably that this song is about a toxic/failed relationship that does no good hence you feel it's too much ("closer than I can take") and it's basically a person contemplating the events.
But in general it could be about anything that revolves around a toxic connection. Not only toxic love but toxic friendships, society and groups etc.
