On a cold March morning in 2006, a family funeral in Slough became the unexpected final chapter of a football legend. Peter Osgood - the man they called "Ossie" - collapsed, his heart giving out at just 59 years old. But this wasn't just the end of a life. This was the final act of a footballer whose story was more complex, more brutal than anyone dared to tell. - กีฬา
Osgood, Hudson, Cooke, Hutchinson, Chelsea were a joy to watch in the seventies. Many happy memories of visiting Stamford Bridge,
Ossie had a good life, he earned a good living and loved playing the game that made him a big name. All good things come to pass, even famous footballers.
Never the "prince" but always the KING of Stamford Bridge
Why these robotic voices ???
Omg memory lane Ossie was my hero the most overlooked striker by England. Alongside my travels to away games as im a sad northern branch member, my old man a fan was a sad londoner! The team travelled on the train with the rest of us, I witnessed the bad tommy docherty away from the cameras...... I spent a fortune following these boys alas Im 66 now, Ive always had an attitude like Ossie thanks for that memory that was so close to my chest.
So sorry to hear of his early death , watched him get his leg broke in a fair tackle from Crazy horse Emylim Hughes in a game around 1968 against Blackpool at Bloomfield Rd but he got over it and played for England too the football family has lost a good lad
Great memories of a great player.
Absolutely loved ossie. Joined soton in the twighlight of his career but was still a class act and helped us win the f a cup in 76. Gone from us far too soon. Still sadly missed.
Fantastic player .Loved watching him , Charlie Cooke, John Hollins, Ian Hutchinson etc .Great side.
I'm a Spurs fan
ALWAYS WILL BE REMEMBERED, A TRUE LEGEND AND I'M A LEEDS FAN .R.I P ❤
Ossie and Hutch were an invincible striking double. Great era with Charlie and Alan. Shackled by Sexton let the fans down.
One thing puzzled me as I watched this film. Dave Sexton went on to create the wonderful QPR team of the mid-70s, which almost won the old First Division. Its star player was my idol at the time: Stan Bowles. He was the epitome of a talented but maverick player, yet Sexton was able to build a team around him. How was that possible if Sexton was such a rigid control freak as described here? I wonder why he couldn't do that with Peter Osgood. Perhaps things weren't as black and white as this film suggests.
I wish you had kept it short and to the point instead of rambling on and on. You lost the point by repeating yourself all the time
Ossie was , is and shall always be the king of Stamford Bridge.
It's sad that Ossie died too young ,
Tommy Docherty said Dave Sexton
Always played boring football ,
But I always thought Chelsea played
Great Stuff Charlie Cooke was a great
Dribbler , a few characters are good
For the game .
Mr.chelsea..the real king.r.i.p ossie
Chelsea v Leeds fa cup absolute classic pity Ossie joined scumampton my favourite player as a kid
It was a diving header at old Trafford
Well he wasnt going to play for skatemouth was he 😂
@Asa93-u6c Your right he preferred the small trophy room team
I watched Chelsea during Osgood's time there and was never as entranced with him as this suggests. Time after time he would get the ball in an attacking position and if progress was easy he would do well. If on the other hand it was not, he would just lazily play the ball off to Hutchinson, giving him no chance, and the attack was killed. But, although I liked the whole team, I was mostly going to see Alan Hudson, the best player I have ever seen live. So many of Osgood's goals were the result of Hudson's brilliance.
Never knew him as the 'Prince' He was always the King of Stamford Bridge. Well, in the Shed End, he was. And I'm sure he was born in Windsor. KTBFFH
Great player from a old MUFC fan
He was Gassa before Gassa and this is talking about a footballer who died a drunk.Great footballer but nothing like portrayed here.RIP Ossie .
It's Ossie at least get his name right
Born in Windsor
He would play for Spital Old Boys FC on Dedworth Road Rec,Windsor on a Sunday morning.I would watch him play when walking my dog.His late Mother lived in a Bungalow in Wolf Lane,Windsor.
Opposite the her house is a small play park now called Osgood Play Park with a sign giving his football history.
Sexton was useless.
Bates is in a warm place now. 😅
Peter Osgood was the finest English footballer I ever saw.
scoring the goal that won chelsea their first fa cup??? not really - osgood scored the equaliser with about 12 mins of normal time remaining; webb scored the winner in extra time
and the description of osgood's goal is a bit odd - it was a flying header, with osgood's head a couple of feet off the ground when he made contact; there was no hanging around in the air
great player, sad end
Osgood became a drunk and it caused an early death. His final years were pathetic as he also went broke and was living on beans on toast.
He was The King not Prince, came from Windsor. Get it right will ya.
Could you see that happening to Lampard or Terry !!! No Way
Why would chelsea ostrisise ossie !!! He only wanted the best for the club It just shows that the powers that be are arrogant men without morals or ideals !!!!!
Little facts. Mostly someone's opion
0:33 He was from Windsor, not London. It wasn't a secret, Ossie was always talking about Windsor.
1:31 Born in Chelsea? This gets worse.
Terrible video.
Very long winded, could have been said in less than five minutes
Absolutely mate, and it would have meant more too, instead of rambling on and on and repeating the same stuff over and over
Chelsea a working class district of London ?
Who is this mug doing the commentary ?
Chelsea had many pockets of working class culture and to less of a degree still has
Wasn't a Londoner, came from Berkshire, wasnt born in Chelsea was born in Windsor, full of shit
sexton destroyed chelseas team of that time
Windsor boy not London!
