Congratulations on your selection to NITs. Biotechnology and chemical engineering has a lot of subject which are common but the main question is what do you want to do after the completion of your undergraduate degree? Which undergraduate course interests you more?
Hey, it depends a lot on what you wanna do next in your career. If your aim to go join universities in the US with direct PhD, then B.Tech in Biotechnology is a much better option over BSc. in Biotechnology. If you wanna, do your masters in India or in Europe, then you could still take up BSc. in Biotechnology. I hope this helps :)
Hi Gautam, mathematics as well as physics will be taught for 1st year of engineering. 2nd year onwards, you will be allowed to choose more specialised subjects. Also remember that if you are planning to enter into academia, you will need to train yourself in data analysis using at least basic softwares like SPSS. Hence, application of math, will be seen throughout your research career. Try looking into online courses from mit open courseware, udemy, coursera to develop your knowledge in maths from the perspective of statistics. This will be helpful in long run :) All the best!

Just one suggestion here, if you are really willing to crack the UPSE exam then have a look at their optional subjects in the Mains exam and then choose your undergraduate studies accordingly. This will provide you more time to focus on other subjects such as Indian Polity, Geography! All the best for the future :)
