Till today the Temples of all states is controlled by State Gov but not for Mosques and Churches, so this story would be real in other religion were there religious places are free to use there money which is donated to them, but in temple there is no freedom, all the money which get in donation is used by state gov for different purposes. So if this story was of different religion would be seen as true but not in this case.

It's not just Hinduism it has to do with country and cultures. In hollywood they make lot of movies that critique Christianity and Christian ideals but you would never see Americans calling for boycott of movies for hurting religious sentiments like in India. Similarly since India is better than more conservative countries like Pakistan or countries in the middle East it was more accepting as there are a mix of religious extremists and tolerant people in India. But still we are years behind many other countries who don't have snowflakes and their religious sentiments don't get hurt from a movie
