    Loved this video, a massive help!
    I’m potentially taking a job at the Tesla plant and will be immigrating from the U.K, so renting is definitely going to be my option initially!
    If you’ve had any experience dealing with people moving from out of country that’d be good to see in a video!
    The thought of a place being colourful and sunny almost year round is mind blowing compared to our 90% grey and raining weather 😂

      LOL. Yes there is humidity in Austin and heat, but you get so used to it, you hate anywhere under 70 degrees,. Been here almost 10 years, would never go back. Will say, I live just outside Austin because Austin itself has been hijacked by idiots from Cali.

    • @MrCarloszeca
      @MrCarloszeca ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@trevorwesterdahl6245 Exactly, people get used to get lock down 24 inside homes, due to humidity. We seems to forget that in the past by the thousands flew from Texas to CA and all over the country and the world. CA got over crowded, but still have the perfect weather all year round and millions of outside activities to do.

    Sudden allergies are often a result of microbiome changes in the digestive system. It's very common, I'd look into it. Sometimes simple things like Pumpkin seeds and probiotics can help with this because they help to reset things.

    I’ll say this, it’s still a very diverse and happy place to be. The boardwalk all around the lake is awesome and train is expanding. I love it. Summer is tough but you have a culture around it. Pools everywhere huge free pools, movies in pools and moonlit nights at Barton creek and even aerobics cocktail hours it’s fun.

    The city doesn’t need a loop road. That would only encourage more traffic and car centric development. Every other city has tried that and it hasn’t worked. There needs to be better neighborhood-to-neighborhood and suburb to city connectivity to alleviate traffic and encourage public transportation usage. Otherwise, great video! Useful information!

      Hi Richard, thanks for watching!
      There’s definitely some cool things to enjoy downtown, and also south of the river. I’d say the majority of people do own cars. It just depends on where in town you’d need to be. There are buses and rail systems available, here’s more info:

    Not sure if you realize this but Barton Springs has periodical clean outs esp the shallow end. In the past, they used to blast cleaning chemicals like bleach or whatever. I'm under the impression they don't do the chemical route anymore but yes, they def still do the scrubbing part. The deeper part is left there with plants due to the area harboring the endangered Barton Springs salamander. Grew up in Austin from age12 to 15 then moved back to Dallas then graduated in Austin in 1990. Went to college all over then eventually ended up living in/out of Austin for 25 years before I moved up north to Kansas 16 years ago and now I'm really hoping to make a visit to Austin in May and trying to see if I can find a job. I know the cost of living has gone really high since I left.

    We're researching Austin and I'm concerned about the deadly algae and the cedar allergies. Can you speak on the algae?

    • @Homebydom
      @Homebydom  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, thanks for watching! Cedar allergies are definitely bad. It usually takes a few years and then they start affecting you.
      As far as the algae goes, the city sends out warnings when there is harmful algae detected in Lady Bird Lake. That’s why they don’t allow swimming there. You definitely want to be careful with your pets around stagnant water.
      Swimming is allowed in Lake Austin and Lake Travis. Let me know if I can help with anything else!

      Austin is not like California. The weather in Austin is not good most of the year and Texas' backward conservative government is headquartered in Austin. That has to tell you something, and its not going to change anytime soon even with Californians moving in here. Also Texas is pro-corporation/business and anti-consumer/anti-worker, even anti-citizen state, which is opposite of California. "Look before you leap, still waters run deep!"
