      @@sebastianorye2702 I'm guessing because there is more to a car to some people than EV-performance. Yes, a Tesla is in many cases the better EV, but is it the better car? That depends on your priorities and preferences in things like design, comfort, feel, interior, options etcetera. Just like with any ICE vehicle, you don't just buy the most efficient one (i.e. Tesla), you buy the one that fits you the best.

    I have to say the Polestar implementation of Android Automotive seems to be leading the way with clear and intuitive touchscreen interfaces. • @sebastianorye2702
      @sebastianorye2702 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would agree that in the position of Polestar, it was definitely a great approach, compared to what a lot of other automakers have provided. Though, for a car like a Tesla, which its clearly taking some tips from ;) (which is good), it still has some ways to go. Though, this might be mainly hardware limited. Regardless, a great package for what they have to offer in features. Though, with that being said, i was disappointed in terms of pricing, capability and hardware as i mentioned. Though, with whats on the market, and if future proofing your car doesn't matter for you, the polestar is a great, comfortable and stylish choice. Otherwise, the Tesla Model Y beats it out.

    Still don't really understand the enormous screens they put in these kind of cars, when there is a perfectly good view out of the windscreen that you should be looking at.. Why do they feel that is necessary? The beauty of an electric car is that it is very easy for the user to monitor, so everything about the car can be hidden except for the range. Would be nice to have a simple electric car, that just takes care of you instead of the other way round.

    Excellent job but about the Polestar 3. The drag coefficient of .29 is not all that impressive. It's .25/.26 on other new SUVs that are considerably taller and roomier. Polestar of this status should have acceleration of 0-60 in the 3 to 4 second range so let's get with the OTA updates. Range is good enough, not great. Just, some of the stats aren't as impressive as they should be. Some people wanted to see an 800V architecture. I think the overall design is nice but a bit busy in the front.
    I'm not a stats only guy so I do feel that if the quietness (very low road and wind noise) is there and the ride suppleness equals the German makes, then this car is a winner. I know the seat comfort, sound system and build quality will be outstanding. Also materials qualities should be excellent as it is in current Volvos and this ups the standard.
    Don't like that the glovebox is opened via the screen. I actually think this car should have more buttons in it. Also, I'd like the option of no piano black anywhere. It's on the console and it looks bad in daily use.
    Great car, overall. Glad to see Polestar being individual in how they did "ambient" lights. No Las Vegas show here.
    Also, take it easy on the Polestar 2. For the money, it's a wonderful car!

    • @Boombi_
      @Boombi_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's for sure not the best EV, range isn't great neither is its charging speed but as a car itself, it is arguably better than other EVs in its price range, my dad has had one for 9 months now, already 25k kilometers in and so far no issue, really is good to drive, good looking too. For the first time ever we've had strangers ask us about our car. It has presence on the road even with the "small" wheels which already are 19 inch we had an Audi A5 before which was really nice and the Polestar 2 definitely doesn't feel like a downgrade. With 4.7 seconds 0-100 or 4.2 if you get the performance software update it really is quick, you notice it especially when overtaking cars, makes it really safe, it isn't as fast as a Tesla model 3, yes, but damn it still is more than enough and it also feels more premium, the materials in the cabine if you don't go for the all leather interior aren't as premium as what you'd get in a model 3 which gets vegan leather and all, it's more like hard recycled plastic and synthetic materials here but they don't feel cheap at all don't move/make funny noises, are robust and well put together. If you can charge from home and don't do long trips on a regular basis then you'll hardly get to use a fast charger, which even then isn't that bad, the car has battery preconditioning which makes it hit its max charging rate of 155kW consistently (even in cold weather) between ≈10-35% you get the full 155kW then until ≈55% >100kW, and when around ≈70% you're more around 60kW slowly reducing as do most EVs those are approximations (Bjørn, a TH-camr doing probably the mot thorough tests on EVs has spreadsheets with all sort of information on various EVs including Polestar 2) also the pixel headlights is just insane, perhaps even better than what Audi is proposing on similar priced cars it's really responsive, doesn't blind drivers and gets the job done. The fact it's a hatchback is good too you get a big opening and more than enough space if you don't always carry big equipment for work or your hobbies.

    Hi Misha, I am curious to know how many battery charges/cycles can the current battery pack go through until it needs to be changed and what the price of that is? And another not so pleasant question, what about fire safety on the PS3/PS2? Recently, EVs are getting more and more negative press as they burst into flames after water damage and firefighters have issues with putting the fire out?

      (This is especially true after the recent price cuts). Tesla provide undoubtedly the best software and hardware of any car, the best efficiency, best performance and range for the price, a ecosystem, actual infotainment, decent quality (though, not as good as polestar from what i see), and most of all, its future proof. Overall, the only reason you would pick the polestar over a Tesla is if price doesn't matter, and all your after is looks pretty much. Though, comparing polestar to other brands, its pretty good (still not price wise though)
