As far as I can find you’re the only one on TH-cam doing in depth reviews of smslaser (probably why smslaser knows about you) these reviews are amazing and very informative
@@ms9404 focusTripp did a video on it already if you're interested. Long story short it has a few quirks that doesn't make sense, like the laser takes a second to turn after you press the switch. That alone makes it useless for quick low ready drills, for me anyway.
Thats interesting man i would suspect theyre going to do something about the flooding, and re-release it. Btw you look exactly like the actor Kevin Durand and you talk like him too. I knew you looked familiar.
currently researching the best IR laser/illuminator to go with. haven't checked to see if you have comparison videos, but it's looking like the NGAL takes the cake so far. think i heard you say the peq outperforms this xk, and the comparison i watched earlier of the NGAL vs PEQ - the NGAL was the better choice. i have a perst4 for the ak already. sadly no illuminator on it though.
@@callofgeorge I would agree with you about the NGAL. Haven't used one yet since I was trying to cover less known LAMs for now. A metal version of the PEQ seems great! Teardowns have revealed that the NGAL insides still have polymer parts, but for a backup gun or first LAM, they seem great. Good luck and thanks for watching!
@@aesthetic8780they just advertise the potted version they are all the same spec only sales them . The only one that's actually potted properly and has better QC if from American defense research they go back in them after receiving. But all the chinese versions are exactly the same on that specific model . Same with the dbol A4 clone that just came out
I just ordered the SMS Laser XK68P (gen 2) about 2 hours before seeing this video. Based on the SMS website. It looks like they removed some of the features on the model you have. There aren't any lugs at the bottom of the mount, nor does it have an adjuster next to the power button. They don't mention or show the tape switch. So, I don't know if it will come with the tape switch you have or the gen 1 model tape switch (which I have). I will have to wait til I get the XK68P in the mail.
@@edwintresco this is the "updated" XK68P that SMS decided to cancel. You'll most likely get the one that I went over in a previous video. Long story short for the current price of $90ish it's a usable LAM for a backup gun.
@nickydickyvids I got my XK68P In today. It doesn't have the lugs or the adjustable switch. It does come with the same tape switch. Also, the LAM doesn't have the power disconnect selection that yours have.
What you can do to help rule out the springs and screws moving after adjusting, is tapping on the turrets to let them settle in place. Same goes for cheaper red dots. This is definitely an improvement over the first gen. I receieved one as well. Mine had issues with flickering on or off when firing. I suspect a loose cable. They are looking to improve though, i think them being a foreign company makes it a little difficult to communicate with us.
@@yeredfarias7662 I've noticed that my "bad" XK68P had a lot of play in the turrets before it would actually nove the laser. I don't have a fix for it, just how to identify if the accuracy will suck. Good news SMS will replace it if you get one DOA. Hopefully they help you with your spotty connection one.
@@declineofthewest. Mine was alright. I think it's a hit or miss to have actual co-aligned lasers but anything close quarter should be good! Thanks for watching!
Technically neither, this body is related to the new $128 XK68 with the flashlight, but this one has an adjustable IR illuminator. If you're okay with flashlight only, I think the new body (the $128 one) is a huge improvement. As for the $90 one, I had some problems with mine, but your mileage can vary. Thanks for watching!
@@jknott3728 yeahhh turns out the FMA XVL2 that I hinted at in the end is garbage. The mount disintegrated immediately lmao. Didn't think it deserved a video but I wouldn't recommend it. I do have something coming soon that I think you'll like though. SMSlaser has been listening to everyone regarding the XK68, and they've been busy...

Thanks for the kind words and for watching! Hopefully they let me take a look at their next laser.
I keep seeing great reviews on the Votatu 840.

You might wanna check out the FMA Lab Tb1311 peq 15 clone. What little I’ve heard about it sounds good
