Going from upstairs to downstairs, there’s definitely a visible difference in the light - I’ve found leathers always do better in lower light and they can take a while to adjust to changes. 🤷♀️ Awesome to see that monti coming back! And also good to see the tomato doing so well even if it’s a jerk. 😁
I will try it lower in the tank and see how it fairs, actually, I can move it to the middle, where I have the crappy lights still, maybe that's the best. You may have seen, I really can't put anything small on the sand, cause the diamond goby will bury it, right away.
I like leathers, they grow fast when they are happy. They sort of look like sps. Somethings they just contract and take breaks. It may be getting too much light and/or too much flow. That’s cool that the monti is bouncing back. They can be tough. I had an ATO issue in the past. I purchased a large tub for ATO water; started a siphon and then went on vacation. The monti was bleached white. I did nothing and it eventually colored back up.
Yes, reefgrrl suggested trying less light on it as well. I will be moving it to a more shaded area while growing and fragging the others in the basement. Very surprised about the monti as well. Was sure it was totally gone and I was just leaving it there more from apathy than anything else.
Regular Percula's are becoming more uncommon than any designer. I haven't seen any in a long long time. You probably noticed but didn't mention, one does appear to have internal parasites. I recently bought a tiny pair of ocellaris. They're so cute and I do have a mutant clown in both my displays but couldn't resist tiny "regular" clowns.
Yeah, I just don't see the value in the designer thing. With a tomato in the fuge, its all about temperament. I did see the poop cling-on with the little one. Not in the store, but in QT. I was wondering who would pick that up in the video, you win the award for the first critical watch!
First thing in the morning too! I do like some variants. I've had my naked clown more then 1/3rd of my life so this type will always be special to me, but "regular" clown fish are great. I love the way adult percs look.
U really need add some monti’s just put them in shade or on sand bed But looking great. ICP TEST. I had same problems then ICP told me everything too low nutrients
Nothing small can go on the sandbed, because the goby buries it immediately, but I will look for some additional plating corals next time I am shopping. Perhaps its time to do another ICP, it's been a while. Thanks for the feedback, Mo
If you’re having trouble with euphyllia could there be somebody taste testing them ie coral beauty? Any peppermint shrimp in the tank (mine started decimating euphyllia and had to be removed)? Any stray voltage?
Could be someone is doing some tasting. I haven't ever seen the coral beauty nipping at corals, but I know it has that possible reputation. I have 1 pepermint in the display and 3 in the frag tank, so maybe it's that one, but the other three aren't doing any harm. Could be flow is too aggressive at times in the display, based on placement. Going to watch these heads closely and adjust as needed.
glad to hear things are turning around for you finally...Patience pays off for sure...love those trumpet coral...
Thanks for checking in Ash! I, too, love the trumpets. They seem happy in that location.

I noticed how much he moved around - he’s a busy guy!
looking good buddy. Glad to see things coming around! Nice work!
Thanks for the quick watch! It is coming along, just need to hold the course...

Are you adding more sps?
I haven't really played with sps. I want to keep the current coral healthy for a while first, i feel .
Thanks for checking in!
