- They Are Billions Battle of Thermopylae custom map which has our 300 soldiers defend against a near impossible final wave of billions of zombies! We will have 150 soldiers, 100 snipers, and 50 Titans to defend ourselves with. This map is based off the Battle of Thermopylae where 300 Spartans tried to defend against hundreds of thousands of invaders at a small mountain pass to weaken the enemy enough so that the rest of Greece would stand a chance. So with this map, we aren't necessarily meant to survive, but do as much damage as possible!

About They Are Billions:
They Are Billions is a Steampunk strategy game set on a post-apocalyptic planet. Build and defend colonies to survive against the billions of the infected that seek to annihilate the few remaining living humans. Can humanity survive after the zombie apocalypse?
In my videos, typically I only cover the final wave in which billions of zombies come to try and destroy your Command Center while trying out crazy strategies. From making 2000 snipers, hundreds of Titans, Shock Towers Only, you name it; I like to have fun and try some crazy stuff! I don't really go over beating the game, or necessarily make the 'Best Defense Possible' because I aim to make these videos as epic and entertaining as possible.
Of course, whenever They Are Billions gets a new update I will cover that as well. Since They Are Billions is still in Beta, the game will be getting plenty more updates including new towers, new zombies, new wonders, a campaign, and much much more!
When covering these updates, I'll show off what the new updates add to the game as well as try to do something crazy against the final wave as well.
They Are Billions custom map gameplay is a big thing now too since the release of the custom map editor in the new update. The map editor allows anyone to make any scenario in They Are Billions, from having 100 giants attack at once to spawning in a thousand Rangers!

i fell like youtubers have better luck i get 50 snipers on the map and 2 ballista's at every wall the 70th wave / day kills my ps for me if the vod is close to my base i build to it and use 1 sniper or 2 rangers and slowly take it down
The Hard Path to Victory: One hero Lucifer must make it to one end of the map without dying. Most of the map is filled with spitty boys... use whatever expendable men you have, BUT DO NOT LET LUCIFER FALL. That's my idea anyway.

It was actually not greece sending the 300! I learned this recently but king leonidas talked to the oracles and they predicted spartas failure in the war. Leonidas ignored them and took his personal guard to hold the hot gates. They actually put a large dent in the persians winning sparta the war
yeah, and it was not 300 spartans only. It was 7000 soldiers from all over greece. The spartans only covered the reatreat, and they had 700 Thespians, who fought to the death alongside them. If you get your information from the movie 300, you might aswell make up something by yourself. The movie is pissing all over actual history.
Maybe you can do a map shaped as an X, where in the middle if the x you'd have your command center and the zombies will spawn for every direction every time, following the every stick of the X. Between each stick you could have resources uthat can't be reached by zombies, this way you focus on defending the command post alone

The Giants taking down there own troops helps in that tight mountain pass. They kill 4-6 of their own with each swing. Great Map!
Thermopylae, oh what a beautiful battle. lasted multiple days too, 3 to be exact. it started off with roughly 7000 greeks, and estimates ranging from 170 000, to 1 700 000 persians, depending on how much of the invading force made it to the battle, and how large the invading force actually was. on the third day only the 300 royal guards of king leonidas and king leonidas himself, aswell as 700 thespian allies stayed while they sent the other 6000 greek allies (the still living ones that is) back home to prepare greece for its united stand against persia. king leonidas and his mens sacrefice bought greece the valuable time needed to gather a force ready to fight off the persians. a realistic estimate is that the greeks were outnumbered 3 - 1 in the war. so thermopylae where greece only had 7000 total warrios might very well have looked exactly like this video.
The Zombies attacking from East could be like the ambush in the film when they attacked them from the narrow path
Can you do more walkthroughs of the custom maps. It is not so user-friendly. I have had problems a few times

Not to be negative but the Spartans weren't the only ones there and there were 4-5 thousand foreign troops allied with the Spartans 300 troops

Would love something like the black forest with gigantic patches of Forest forming small Chokes, but also with very little space to build. Maybe have very few circular niches in it. You will be overglowing with wood and maybe food, but space and other ressources should be hard to get.
@@Grimmsborith1992 Don't know how you can say that the historically accurate final stand of 300+ Spartans, Thespians, and Thebans can be considered something terrible considering that you haven't done anything nearly as epic or brave. Don't make me laugh man. XD
@@jeewonjung2506 i meant the Movie. Not the Deed. It is agreeable a great achievement to hold of an Army that dwarves your allied forces. Even though the Poets of Athens were advised to exaggerate it(very propable) it is still a great achievement. The Movie though spread misinformation, created a wrong depiction of the Soldiers (which would die rapidly if equiped like that), shows stupid battle tactics (rushing in and going 1vs1), wrong locational setting (it was between the sea and a mountainflank, not between cliffs or in a Canyon) and the lack of Athenian Battleships (preventing surrounding from sea). Also depicted the Persian as pretty hard assholes. They were actually more liberators from local warlords than Conquerors, getting everything under a not so harsh book of law instead the will of a single. Also: Jelly-blood (bad CGI-blood).

Even those sneak attacks are historically accurate. That’s how the Persians defeated the Greeks at Thermopylae. Very naise!
Opinion- Place assets in the wider places, and force hostiles into the narrower spots? Would that be worth a re-do? Also- it *looked* [and I could be totally wrong] that if you had waited those missing baddies might have word-wrapped from the east- it seemed the first group to 'cheat' was the one that retreated. Very curious to learn how the game handles pathing boundaries-
How many zombies you killed already ? I mean that achievement counting zombie killed , bcs in your vids you kill them a lot xD
Should have done this with Lucifer’s (they are the shield men) and either snipers/Thanatos (archers) like in 300 😂 great video 👍🏻
I think you can take on even bigger waves of zombies in this choke if you set up a proper concave so all your units can shoot at the same time

What's you PC specs?
The purpose of the 300+ at Thermopylae wasn't to significantly weaken the invaders. It was to hold them long enough for the main Greek and Spartan armies and navies to mobilise. I believe they managed to hold the gap for 7 days before the small defensive force was overrun and massacred. I've loved the tale ever since I read the book by Steven Pressfield.
and I believe it was 9,000 soldiers plus, until the last day when the soldiers knew the Persians found another route to around the area they were defending and would be attacking from both sides. Knowing they would all die most of the soldiers retreated except 1,300 which stayed and died. Out of those 1,300, 300 of them were Spartans. That's why the 300s were so famous. This is totally inaccurate

I hope you know the total overall amount of greeks who defended the path were to be believed to be between 6000-7000 greeks including the 300 spartans reason being it was a coalition effort.
the part of the battle that is immortalized only had 1,500 men on the greek side
700 thesbians
300 spartans
400 thebians (who didn't die and claimed to be against their will..which would make sense given they later marched with persia)
and some helots who were mostly there as support
had the 6,000 remained the battle wouldn't have been immortalized in the first place, as they may have been able to hold out as was the initial plan until the holiday's were over and the real force could march

Mate you don't need to be a ancient history student to get hurt by his lack of knowledge about the battle of Thermopylae, i only learn Greek mythology as a random past-time and it hurts a little to listen to his intro.
True, there were 300 Spartans. But the total number of Greeks there, based on modern estimates, is around 7,000 soldiers.
Of which, 700 Thespians (ever so often forgotten by history) remained along the 300 Spartans to hold the line while the other 6000 or so redeployed.

Prussian Mapping and it was to slow down the Persians, not weaken them (he also pronounced it wrong)

The perfect 'guilty pleasure' map would either have to be a corridor flanked by titans and thanatos behind fences, or a straight corridor with lucifers at the end just like a firewall.

Hi. Do a map where you have only one unit and you have to run around and clear the whole map, which has like a maze or something, and also you can maybe help the unit with some limited number of walls.
Hmm 1 unit would be meh, however a small squad of units having to run through a zombie maze could be VERY interesting!
OK, however you can make it work :)
Oh, and also finding resources on the map here and there, protected by zombies, and using the resources to do stuff that make you stronger somehow if possible.
