I used to do the dropper loop trick, never thought about doing it with a jerkbait though. This whole video is epic. I'm on a streamer kick too. Don't care how big the fish are, but I want to catch both bass and trout on the same flies.

Couldn’t agree more....you can chuck meat all day long and move a few but as soon as dusk hits....if conditions are good It can be Jurassic donkey sized trout in numbers. That’s why I definitely disagree with people who say for example they don’t nymph
I feel like huge streamers in faster chop, where huge browns own acreage is true...but I’ve definitely caught gigantic trout On normal sized streamer as well. Depends more on other variables, weather, water flow & level and most importantly time of day. Witching hour is like the dinner bell for meat eating trout.......the freaks come out at night.
All the fly fishermen in my area laugh when I show up to the river with my baitcaster and an arsenal of 3+" crankbaits, they stop laughing when I inevitably land a giant brown or steelie. Big fish eat big baits, screw those tiny nymphs and egg patterns
Colin Winkelmann at the same time my biggest Brown to date was caught on a size 10 nymph so they can catch big fish from time to time. But generally bigger baits bigger fish

You need major confidence in technque to fish these streamers . I'd have no clue whether I have a chance or not.
