    I absolutely love Your workflow. I was thinking about doing same thing in Medium, but I can tell already, Gravity is muuuuch better way to go.

    Pls how did you do the shape gallery? What format is it? As far as I know you can import only OBJs and for me it never loads with correct texture. Is there pls a guide on how you prepare the shape galleries for this use so that all loads correctly? I love the video!!! Learned so much from it. Thank you!

    If you want to scale things properly use the rotation tool from the tool belt. Click on the object and then click another spot and it will center the axis.

    How the kit already including the textures? what kinda work i need to prepare? Did you use blender material node to forms and export it like fbx or obj before assembling?

  • @mutedsounds2k
    @mutedsounds2k 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Couldn't you simply use Blender (eventually the Grease Pencil) and some free greeble library (there are some AWESOME ones)?

    Wow! Great content! Honestly I am a little bit disappointed though. I was hoping that you were offering a small demo download sampler pack that I could inspect and manipulate prior to purchase. Most of these components look amazing! I was assuming that I would be able to use your parts lego style to assemble various bots before I commit to buy these multi hundred dollar packs...

    Amazing video! I am wondering how do you make each component from prefab up to scale so their size match perfectly? Can that be done in Gravity Sketch? Thank you!

    • @MinGuen
      @MinGuen 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks! You just need to be aware of the unit scale in your 3D applications. For example I use meters in Blender and when I import to Gravity Sketch you have an ability to select meters as well (grey “import box” on the right)

    Really cool ,great final result.. how do you find using the goggles for long time? i always fancy jumping in but get scared at the thought of burning my eyes with the goggles for long time use

    • @MinGuen

      Honestly, I'm more worried about having VR hair (a line from the strap) and my neck. But I'm not preaching VR, at its current state- it's definitely not for everyone and not an answer to everything. I just love the intuitiveness of it and it suits my needs when it comes to quickly sketching something out in 3D.

    • @cluek9780
      @cluek9780 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For sketching, it’s so intuitive, 3hrs will dissolve. THEREAFTER, it gets daunting- and more dissociative when you emerge. One must build-up working times. My max is currently 5 hrs in Medium, then 3 more in blender3D made me a true vegetable. An EXCITED, enervated veggie, but still FINISHED for the day, ate, then slept 11 hrs.
      I have yet to get proficiency in GS, but (as stated by other, more-seasoned VR modelers), GS is for drawing, Medium is for sculpting….

    question: how do you link your computer files to the landing pad for gravity sketch?

    • @MinGuen
      @MinGuen 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hey man. Just go to your Landing Pad Web page. Choose: Personal Files/ Filter Import Library and drop your files there.

    On what VR platforms does this work? I have a Quest 2 with gravity sketch, but I only use the VR in standalone mode as I don't have a VR ready PC.
    Is this still possible without a VR PC?
    Because the workflow looks awesome!

    • @MinGuen
      @MinGuen 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I did this demo with Quest 2 connected to PC. Honestly haven't really tried this kit on standalone but something tells me it would be fine. Gravity Sketch is actually amazing when it comes to heavy scenes. When in standalone I would delete or hide the mesh that you DEFINITELY don't need at the time and keep it simple as possible. Otherwise you might experience some frame drop.

    • @cluek9780
      @cluek9780 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Independent Q2 in GS starts skudding after a bit, but hiding layers helps; perhaps the newish frame doubling will help.
      The real limitation is battery charge.
      PCVR with Q2 may minimize any limits, but I’m told to “get a GPU with at least 6GbVRAM”
      Good Luck on that in this market!

  • @BurtonPosey

    Do you need the professional license for Gravity Sketch to do the exports? That's the impression I got from their pricing details, but I might have missed if you detailed which version you were using to export your files.

    • @OneHewMan
      @OneHewMan 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      nah, it's all free now. they got enough funding from corporations that they no longer charge for the use of GS. I've been using it for years now and all of the features are available at no charge.

    • @-AT-WALKER
      @-AT-WALKER 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Had to pay a couple of quid for GS when the Quest first released, however they kindly made it free shortly afterward- like most free apps their profits are made via other methods... who owns GS?!
