Hello Sarah! Great video again 🙂 Before dreading my one hair and adding extensions I tried double ended dreads that I breaded in my hair. I tied them with wig thread. It's very sturdy and you can match it to your hair color, so it is seamless. Plus, it's better at covering the ends of your hair so they don't stick out of the dread. They never break or come loose. To get them out you must cut the thread. That is really the best method in my opinion to ensure you never loose a dread on the dance floor or on the table wile entertaining. Now that I have my hair dreaded, I sometimes add double ended dreads for a special occasion. It adds volume and texture. In them I can add special decorations, like feathers, dangling moons and crystals etc. Since I take them out before bed, I use elastics. If I wanted to keep them for longer, I would use thread. Have a great week end 🌺😊
Hi 👋🏼 Great information. Thank you. I’m definitely gonna have to try this out because I do get flyways that sort of drive me crazy. Lol. Such great info. Thanks so much 🙏🏼❤️😎🙌🙌
I have made a set of synthetic locs AND two sets of wool locs. I made the synthetic set incorrectly and they turned out very very itchy but the wool locs were very comfortable and pillowy. I have ordered several more jumbo braids for this week and I am going to attempt another synthetic set. I’ve learned more about rinsing off the chemicals and how to set the locs properly so they are not so Velcro like! You look absolutely stunning 🤩 thank you for making a video about your experience
Thank you for your comment and thank YOU for sharing you’re experience! I would love to see the locks you have done. If you are on IG please DM me some pics!!! 🙏🏼❤️
I've had all kinds of dread extensions, 1st 50 DE wool dreads, then moved onto synthetic SE dread extensions, and more recently I've partially dreaded my real hair and added synthetic dread extensions. I will say wool was slightly heavier then synthetic, but more importantly WHEN WET! I have a pool and last summer not being able to get my 50 DE wool dreads wet was so hard! Not to mention wool dreads you can pretty much ONLY shower with early am because it takes a full day if not 1.5 days for them to dry fully on their own! I'm looking forward to my synthetic extensions on my partially dreaded real hair this summer because I won't have to worry if they get wet and the downside (physically on your neck/shoulders) of having wet wool dreads! Also, synthetic dreads look more real and can be moulded and shape re-set by simply applying steam heat/boiled water on whichever shape you desire (curly or straight). I will be purchasing real human hair and making my own dread extensions soon to swap out with my synthetic dread extensions because I feel I could be happier with all natural hair, but for now, my vote is for synthetic over wool for the sheer fact of zero downtime for washing/drying and simply not as heavy. I would highly recommend ppl to start with wool dreads and see how you like them (more cost effective) and if you do, play around with w.e material fits your lifestyle and needs! Woolies are great to start, but synthetics are less downtime, less maintenance and lighter to wear, woolies are softer however so if your a newbie, it's a great place to start as their often slightly more cost efficient! P.s LOVE YOUR DREADZ GIRL🫶❤️
Oh thanks girl and thanks for your comment! Good to know about the wool dreads. One thing I definitely do like about my synthetic dreads is that they dry quite quickly, which is huge. I find it absolutely fascinating that you’re telling me about wool being so much heavier when wet. I don’t think enough people talk about that.
The best method I've found is 100% rubber and black, brown or white. I fully agree the clear almost melts down and turns to mush. It's odd. But stay away from any elastics that say silicone, you want RUBBER only! I honestly can't be bothered with strong lol
Girrrl! I just bought some red dreads and I bought the toughest rubber bands I could find, after doing a lot of research. They are actually horse bands for braiding horse hair! My predicament is, that they came in white! They would be perfect for you, but for me? Hmmm... Do you think it will work or should I get the black... Anyway, they are called super bands - they have 1,000 in a container and around $17 I heard those are the best! xx
Hi 👋🏼 Thanks for your question! I just wash my hair like I would my regular hair. Then scrub my scalp with my fingers and get in between the dreads. No conditioner though because that can cause build up. I use tiny rubber bands I get from the beauty supply shop to hold the braids in. :)
I wear wool dreads! I have synthetic sets as well but I have very sensitive skin. believe it or not, the wool is actually much easier on my skin (itchy wise) than the synthetic dreads. the wool is very light weight and I do everything (care wise) exactly the same as I did with the synthetic dreads. visually you really can't tell the difference. I prefer them right now because they're just much easier on my skin :) but I've heard that dreadful hippie makes their synthetics in a way that minimizes the itch... so I might invest in a set of those at some point and see how they go
Hey 👋🏼 Thanks for your comment. I’m so interested in hearing about wool dreads. I keep hearing that they are super light. Dreadful hippie is amazing!! It’s wonderful that they are working on making dreads for even sensitive skin!! How long are your dreads? Are they singles or doubles? What colours?? I have so many questions!! Lol 😆
Hi. 👋🏼 thanks for your question. 10DE and so on means “Double Ended”. You can buy single dreads or double ended dreads. A double ended dread is just a very, very long dread folded in half and then braided into the hair as opposed to a single end of dread which is just one dread with a loop on the top of it. When you use double end dreads, you get double the amount of hair.

Hey 👋🏼 thanks for your comment! Yes I have learned that rubber is the only way to go for sure! 😁
Do they get yellow looking when they get dirty. And when you was these dreads how do they dry. Although you look very pretty.😊
Thanks for your question! No the dreads do not get yellow and dry easy after the shower!

How do you wash these in particular and also how are they installed with thread tie or bands? I ordered from your girl recently

I'm a little confused. What does it mean when it shows 10ed and so on?

You look like young Pamela Anderson!
