    Where did you find this " political analyst"? Key reason for Singapore success in anti-corruption is " The burden of proof to rebut the presumption lies with the person." The PCA (Law) provides for a presumption where any gratification given or received by a person in the employment of the Government or of a public body is deemed corrupt. So the person must proof himself innocent. Unlikely other countries where investigators have to find the "corrupted act".
    So the government official just have to wear an expensive watch to be "guilty of corruption", and for him to proof source of funds.

      Auntie Jenny, Singaporeans can speak our minds, but it does not mean anyone can start trumping-up groundless accusations, spewing slanderous remarks & expect to get away scott-free like how that attention grabbing Mr Amos who was subsequently convicted in USA for Pedophile-related charges. Pofma applies to foreigners as well, not only Singaporeans, its just that Pofma can only cover press & media under Singapore's jurisdiction where Pofma applies. I disagree with your view that "Singapore is sliding downhill rapidly" put next to "Not long after Mr. Lee Kuan Yew's death" suggesting an attempt to portray Singapore before LKY's death as being better.
      There appears to be epidemic scale of self-victimization delusion amongst people who enjoys lamenting that Singaporeans are 2nd or 3rd class citizens, who next give excuses of being "fearful of voicing out for fear of repercussions", in case you don't know, there is such a thing as anonymous reporting & creating new profiles/social media accounts that can be easily deleted & other more complicated masking methods to mask & hide your iP address & remain completely anonymous for you to share your accounts of scandals & corruptions, fear-free.
      Nobody can truly claim to totally understand anyone else "immense pain & struggles" as nobody else can truly become you, but every human being is capable of empathizing with another fellow human being pain & struggles. I wonder if your work life is really as miserable as you describe it to be? or is this not simply a hyperbolic expression of your desire to ascribe responsibility for the current plight in your life(a result of your own choices in life) unto someone or something else?(in this case the ruling Singapore government) Instead of looking outside for the change you desire in your life which you alone is responsiible for & capable of making the appropriate & necessary changes to change your life(whether you hail from working class or managerial, executives, business-owners etc. elite classes).
      Unless you change your mind, nobody else can convince you that you are not as powerless over your own life as you portray it to be, but you had unfortunately chosen to turn over the responsibility, failures & (also unwittingly) chances for success in your life out from your own grasp unto your imagined oppressive external entity which exist in your mind & allows you an "easy way out" to continue leading your painful struggling life. You will never be free of pains & struggles in your life if you continue to harbor the thoughts of an Aunt Agony, don't become like Mr Amos.

    Income inequality should be narrowed. An extreme luxury and extreme unhealthy population. Life is short, is sex the only criteria for living? Corruption no need, the ministers have enough money.

    Every citizens was shock and stunt about the transactions at Ridout. But what we get is NO WRONG DOING FOUND. There no COI to show and the public is just outrageous few words to show. Those accuse minister is still trying to treaten those with those that brought the case to light. That is treacherous.

      @@faridrezaei8180some people say Singapore more easier to govern because of low population. but look at Turkmenistan they had same amount of population but with high corruption index, Singapore was a country developed in low foundation without nature resources but Turkmenistan had one of the largest gas and oil reserves in the world and is one of the top ten cotton producers, unlike Singapore the economic potential of Turkmenistan has not benefited the population but the Government & their country leader. Singapore corruption control efforts are effective, an improvement from 95% in 2020. for me the were 3 most important factor that contribute to the low corruption rate in Singapore, political determination heavy punishment for corruption offences and zero tolorence

    • @dyeen
      @dyeen ปีที่แล้ว

      @daniel (A dictatorship is a government or a social situation where one person makes all the rules and decisions without input from anyone else. ) However in Singapore the policies are voted by members of the parliament after debating it and there are more than one party in the parliament. So Singapore is not ruled by dictatorship.
