Hi there..i am training on Prime flatbed right now and we have a load of onions fron Cali..good idea on V boards i will make some too..where do you stow them?
Great educational video ,real proper way to secure the onions ,never seen anybody actually doing this live :)) however by putting tarp first and than one strap in the middle of each stack (2 straps for first and last stack) you can avoid vee`s for sure . The pressure will become equal for each stack as the onion will settle naturally as you drive . Thank You more videos like this, amazing job and pleasure to watch .
I do have a question is it common to haul onions on a flatbed it seems to me that it would be better to haul them in a reefer. If there is a reason for hauling onions on a flatbed can you please enlightenment me as to why a flatbed is the choosen method or is it just a matter of that a flatbed was the only kind of trailer available.
I try to find a onion truck every year when I'm polishing. And least buy 1 50lb bag most drivers oblige me. I got Valhallas once lol I traded polishing 6 wheels for em Haha
Good stuff my brutha! First time I've ever seen onions secured on a flatbed. Would be nice to have a spread axle reefer for that weight. You guys were rolling bruh! Too bad it wasn't paying like you wanted but hopefully it got you to a high dollar load. Keep it moving👍
That's crazy overkill for onions. 2 straps on the front pallet, one per after. Throw a 4x4 under the fronts and backs. No v boards needed. We do it everyday.
@@Jaytheflatbedder if u get through York Nebraska this spring or summer with a load of sweets on holler at the polisher at the exit (me) I'll hook up dem wheels for a bag!! Lmao
Twisted strap alters the integrity and the lb/rating of the strap.Agreed ,doesn’t vibrate but you’re not getting the full potential of the strap rating when it’s twisted so it’s a no for me🤷♂️

it you twist your straps, keeps them from vibrating in the wind and damaging the product.
Yeah twist them and it tightens up better .
