On Idol Drama Operation Team, Moonbyul mentioned she was a trained vocalist, but because of mgmt she was told she wasn't good enough so the decision was made for her to rap. I love hearing the women of Mamamoo sing, but when I see Moonbyul on the sidelines it's like she is just waiting for her chance, when there should be vocals she raps. By her not singing her muscles are not allowed to strengthen therefore you don't really get to hear what she was trained for.

I don't think it's any discredit to Byul that she didn't (not that she can't i'm sure) take on the those extremely high notes. But I do think she possess an entirely different skill-set. Rapping isn't any less of a requirement or skillful than hitting high notes, or showing off vocal range ^_^
Her solo's are a proof that she sings amazing, but Rapping really is hard, and especially when she mixes it with harmony. Not to mention writing lyrics!

Sometimes it saddens me when I think moonbyul wanted to join as a vocalist but was assigned as a rapper. It was her only choice and yet she succeeded not only becoming one of the greatest rappers but also becoming a amazing vocalist.

I'm so thankful that new moos wouldn't feel the frustration and the heart break of seeing byul standing there having only few stanzas to sing like we all did. I'm glad byul got her confidence back on singing again after being force to be a rapper and for that I'm sincerely happy to see that grow over the year.

Although she's not confident back then to do solo part, she's really playing important roll to hold lower key for harmonize.
Crazy though Moon even though it may not look like it has a lot of involvement in the group especially behind the scenes. She harmonizes with the group and she co writes half of Mamamoo's songs and writes 98% of her raps, she also choreographed some of their dance routines. But i did wish they added her raps they are a big part of their songs
we stan a group with good symphony but i feel bad for moonbyul for having less mic time i think thats the problem with owning the rap title cuz sometimes u wont be able to sing

Moonbyul actually is a singer but the company asked her to train as a rapper, I'm not think about their previous performances too much because Byulie proved that she can be best at both especially nowadays. I'm proud of the four of them. They are queens!

It's so sad how most of their considered best vocal performances, you only get few ones with Byul actually singing with them. Truthfully, it's so heartbreaking. I don't know how she could cope with that for such a long time, just being in the background most of the time and having the most few lines. I would have quit a long time ago. That's just shows how strong she is.
Don't forget other members, who always beside her and try to convince her to sing again the whole time until now

I've never stanned a kpop group as much as Mamamoo. Actually, I've not a kpop fan at all. Just a Mamamoo fan. All the members are talented and unique in their own way but becomes unstoppable as a group.

Im actually quite glad i just discovered them after dsotm because i actually get to hear moonbyul sing more now. If i stanned them earlier i wouldn't bare not hearing her sing and it was quite heartbreaking because for most of their performances she was just standing there while the other three were belting away. Im so glad she has more confidence in her voice now
You would have enjoyed how she grew as a singer again and how she thanked moomoos for it.

they literally have the bet vocals out of all the Kpop girl groups now and back when. Maybe with the exception of a select few strong singers. But legit. that's it. They are amazing

i think it's difficult in a group with such vocals to have Moonbyul shines more :/ she's my fav but honestly, their first songs are not suited the most for her. Her rapping is legendary and her voice is very good, im glad in their recent songs they put an emphasis on the rap so we see her more!

Honestly they're the best group of vocalists I've ever seen. By far. Especially in K-pop, and I feel like this is so underrated. They may not dance quite as much as other groups, but so many other groups especially now are sacrificing the audience's ears for a flashy or solid dance performance (which can be good, don't get me wrong, but it's refreshing to hear this). I stan these ladies!
ah man - I'm a moo moo, sometimes I miss their earlier days. All of their vocals abilities have transformed and improved, but their songs were more vocally based then stylistic.
They are all truly gifted singers and experts at their craft. They work diligently to remain at the top of their game. Mamamoo's sound is so unique with the way they blend. A lot of people don't realize because they don't see Moonbyul belting that she's not contributing as much, however her alto voice and lower register create an overall robust sound to the group's expressiveness. It's remarkable.
I've noticed moonbyul has the less feminine outfits. I wonder if thats what she wanted. Matches her super well but I wonder if she wants to be viewed more feminine than as a girl crush vibe.
Despite having a lot of lines though, I've noticed Wheein is the least popular. Like Solar is liked for her powerful voice, Hwasa is liked for her natural swag and unique voice and Moonbyul is liked for her rap but still being an awesome vocalist. Wheenin has an amazing control over her notes and has absolute control with the technique she uses. I just want her to be more appreciated like the others. They're all amazing as an individual and group.
Syphiex moonbyul has said on several occasions she prefers wearing less feminine clothing and is often uncomfortable when she’s in skirts/dresses. wheein is the least popular from outside the fandom but super popular with moos, in the fandom she is arguably the member with the most stans. a lot of koreans recognise wheein for having an amazing voice and she’s always sort out for collabs in the industry. solar and hwasa are definitely the most popular with the general public so from the outside they seem the most well known

She used to be trained as a singer but became a rapper instead. She knew because of her special voice, but she still feel unconfident and just trying her best to rap. Other members always beside her and cheer her up until today, you can see how much she enjoy and more comfortable to show others her singing skill

I need to rewatch this video, just to clarify myself that MAMAMOO is a girl's group, with superb voice. Because sometime, I've always forgot they are in girl's group, just a bunch of friend, get together with crazy personalities.

I’m a hard ReVeLuv and Orbit. I’ve been doing a lot of research on Mamamoo’s discography and I’m loving it! This video really showed me how much talent these girls REALLY have! Moonie’s low register in harmony and raps are incredible! Solar’s diva like voice is out of this world! Whee-in’s effortless runs and bright tone is to die for! And Hwasa’s playful range of notes is absolutely insane! I would love to say that I’m officially a MooMoo as well now, that is if the fandom would have me💙
