- The Eden map for DayZ mysteriously disappeared from the workshop. The map creator has deleted the Discord and cut all ties with the map developers. Before it got taken down, I managed to play one life on the map. This is how that went.

Apparently there were also some issues with Sumrak and using some of his code for the Eden mod.

yep he was using the code from Namalsk and got told to remove it
so Sad, for the last 3 to 4 years I seen Day z Streams and TH-cam vids, never played the game. Last 2 weeks that I seen this map being played on I finally had the final itch to finally play this coming weekend and then this happens

M1NDR, you killed me twice in this clip, i was the one who called out your name, sorry about that... i just woke up from uncon and heard your voice, i was shocked! spent many hours watching your vids and your voice is instantly recognizable. I was also the guy on the airfield with the SVAL. im pretty sure we were the two guys outside the skyscraper lobby were you put the claymore. We followed two people (after watching i realize its you and your buddy) from the skyscrapers all the way to the airport. we lost you for a while but saw you crossing the runway, my friend took a 500+m shot when you were at the fire house. eventually we got caught between you guys and atleast one more squad and you shot me next to the hangar. its AWESOME to see how it all turned out!
@@SleepingSheep95 it was all very confusing, but that IS my voice, i just woke up and hear M1NDR's voice and assumed he was the one who knocked me, but you can see the guy rush me at @4.57 . well M1NDR killed both of us in the end anyway...

Those claymores desynch when you go out of range. If you relog, then you can disarm it and pick it back up.
Honestly DayZ needs some more first party maps. Even if it was just a winter version of Chernarus to give us a bit more punishing gameplay.
According to marks i believe the maker used coding from namalsk map and was asked to checke the coding or take it down. So he deleted the map and his discord. 🤷♂️
04:34 M1NDR is so right, he literally hit on hes legs and didnt break the legs, sometimes I get shot in the chest and I get broken leg... this game is so random wtf. T_T

Rumors abound.
Currently, I believe the rumor is that a map maker never gave permission to the uploader to use the map. The dispute caused most of the servers to be taken down, with the rest of them to follow.
Without some actual confirmation, who knows?

Sucks it got taken down I really was enjoying it. No Clue as to why but it was a very cool & fun map! maybe it will come back someday? Who knows? Great run on the map Well done as always buddy! Been lurking lot in streams love the streams dude great info and knowledge of the game helps us players with not as much time in the game. The crossbow is sick you should add it to KK!! It was an okay map. The person that made the map apparently ripped most of the code from the one of the other maps and got in huge trouble so they ended up removing all trace of the map as a whole.

There was a map before that was tropical, called Audley.

Just for those who do not know, the word goes that somebody stole the map from the original designer, so the reason it was taken down is because it was an unfinished map stolen from the creator.
I was watching Summit1gs stream and that's what he was told, it's my only source.

Er, I think you can, still. I was on that map not 10 minutes ago? Maybe I'm wrong but there was a server running it and I was able to connect it just fine. After downloading from the workshop my Steam client crashed, which I thought was weird, because it never does that, but after that was all finished I was on that map just now. Impactz something. Eden I think. If this is the wrong map than strike the thought, and I have no idea what I'm talking about.

A big tsunami hit the map and flooded it, so they had to shut it down.
Theory: Map creator was told to take it down by Bohemia, because were going to get Tanoa for standalone :)
Dayz youtuber marks said, it seems the map was using Namalsk code without permission and he was asked to remove the code from the map which he refused and then deleted the map and Discord..

Literally have played the map every day for the past two weeks. A backup got uploaded almost immediately. I haven't actually watched your video but assuming its clickbait because there is literally about 40 servers running the eden back up map.
people can still play this map, there are few servers that use backup Eden map

This is what’s frustrates me the most about dayz on console.
We never get cool shit like this to keep me interested. I know every square inch of chenarus and just about every square inch of Livonia. When will console get new maps so I can have a reason to play again.

Maybe the reason they deleted the map is because of the broken gun hit marker mechanics. You shot the dude in the head he should have been dead but apparently these people take no damage. I'm going to guess this is why it got deleted

Didn't it get pulled because it was using assets created by another map maker, and the Eden creator would rather delete the map than just say sorry?
I'm pretty sure he just removed it because if he didn't the original creator could just have it deleted from the workshop, so this way at least he knows he's the one pulling the plug and maybe will revamp the map with more original content before re-releasing, but this is probably just wishful thinking bc I haven't gotten to try the map yet

The dayz creators reached out to him and bought the map off him he took it down and it will be offically released after they tweak it a little bit make it more stable sadly this project is going to be released anytime soon as in the files labeled 2023 oct

It's all stolen from arma anyways who cares? Anything added to DayZ by personal modders should be good to go regardless of who gets butthurt considering it's free.

DayZ may have started out as an arma mod, but being it's own standalone game now makes it no longer applicable.

I don't know why i hate tropical map. I also deleted COD Warzone for tropical map, and the world war 2 guns. I like new guns like AK, Scar-L, AR-15, M4A1, and modern soldiers. If this is the only map that you can play in dayz. I'm not gonna buy it. Do somebody know if can you play dayz on chernarus map and Livonia ?. Because if you can't, i don't want to spend my money just for this tropical map.

More than likely not. It's a small map and doesn't have enough replay-ability, they were planning on adding some secrets kinda like banov but obviously that ain't gonna happen now 😂
Would be cool to have more interesting maps in terms of nature than what is in DayZ.
Now, I understand that the DayZ is supposedly taking place about a month or so after the outbreak of an unknown virus, so there wouldn't really be much time for the nature to actually show off it's colorful nature, but I just dislike how everything is so plain and sad in the nature of DayZ. I understand that the map is based on eastern Europe, which cannot be really admired for beautiful nature, unlike countries in Africa or East Asia, but I still think that there could be more done than just forests which only consists of trees and occasional bush.
Again, it makes sense to the lore, as practically the whole area of DayZ map was pretty much inhabited or used by tourists for travelling (the dirt paths for example), but it just looks too sad, there isn't much to look at honestly.
