- Figuring out who's friendly and who isn't is the hardest thing about meeting people in DayZ. With Esseker being such a small map, you will need to have this skill all the time. As a player with 11.000 hours, it's still very hard. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't. Here's a typical adventure on how that goes.

Haven't played DayZ in 6 or 7 years and honestly probably never will again but your videos are great I catch them once in a while and they are so entertaining. I wish playing the game was actually like this all the time.

There is a laundry list of why people stop playing.
-The server crashes at the worst of times
-Spawn loot is horrendously bad
- Very steep learning curve
-Must put invest a lot of time into progressing and if you get one tapped, you need to be okay starting over from scratch
-Hackers unchecked
-Spend more time monitoring your vitals than anything else.
All of those reasons I mentioned is what makes this game so challenging and some people see that as a good thing and others see it as a chore
Once any game you play becomes a chore to you, then its probably time to find a another game that challenges you while still being fun.
The videos we see by these creators are edited very well. Which is why it’s more exciting to watch them play than to play the game yourself.

That's why I like to have them always within sight so if they try anything, they'll have to work for it.
Don’t let backstabbers deter you from making friends in this game. Some people get betrayed and then they spawn back with hostility towards everyone they encounter. I get it, you upset that hours was wasted to be killed without a chance to defend yourself. They caught you with your pants down. It’s not a good feeling. I have made a ton of friends on day z as well as rust because despite it all, I still take the risk of teaming up with strangers. Now a days I never play solo as there is always a buddy or two online willing to join up or are texting me asking if I’m gonna hop on later with them.
I personally don't give a sh*t. I havent played in awhile but I was always friendly because I liked interacting with strangers from around the world. I don't care if they kill me and steal my gear, its a video game so who cares. I cant stand the kill on sight or back stabbing after a while type of players, especially youtuber's. Fresh Spawns come to mind, those guys are toxic af

I was playing with this one guy I found. He was struggling with zombies, so I helped him out. In the process I got knocked out. Then he helped me up. He seemed really friendly right? Well a few minutes later he turns around and shoots me. I was in shock.
One guy I met rolled with me for 90 mins and helped me build my tent, then killed me when I went in my tent and couldn't fight back. Destroyed my tent, chopped up my body, and ran away. Barely any loot to gain. People are strange, lol.

It's becoming harder to find friendly people just cause there making the game set for bigger groups to survive plus everyone's in party chats with there mates , it's ending up like rust whomever has the biggest clan win especially since the damage change on guns like the tundra and blaze have been halfed giving bigger groups over all advantage in big gun fights still a great game but it's defo changing for the worse just so the developers can make the most 💰💰💰
One thing I really dislike about modern days is the way they handle the view distance. It is so lame now, wierd fog everyone and textures dont render in properly. So frustrating

I take hours to get back to extreme north tissy locale. Never get my shit back. If I'm close to natural death I'll chuck everything off into a bush and hope it's there time I get back..it rarely is..I'm not a shit player but coming from shore to extreme north takes me at least 3 game nights. And that's if I been lucky enough to get compass otherwise I often zip back and forth as I go north....south....west....east... north....south...south...north etc etc....

Kills me watching these Esseker videos, wish Monkee and Ron would either come back and finish this Esseker this time around, or at least give up the files and allow someone else to be able to finish it that would try to give it as much detail as they did.... they're such good map designers, but this is 2 for 2 on Esseker's started and Esseker's abandoned in completely unfinished states..... such a great map, was for Arma 3, but at least that one was eventually given up and allowed to be finished by someone else, now the same, but with nobody allowed to expand upon the playable area and finish the towns and cities up. 😫

Thats part of the lure. Danger is everywhere. There are ways to move around though. I ran from Berezino all the way up past Severograd unseen. Shots in every city and town along the way.
