  • while cleaning my Vette I noticed that there were dead leaves protruding from the wipe drain mesh.
I decided to remove the mesh and surprise surprise....

Excellent job explaining the cleaning process! Water leaks are very hard to find. With multiple reasons. One possibility is clogged drain tubes. You should be able to see with the kick panel removed. They are rubber, about 8" long. Not uncommon. Given you had all that "stuff" behind the screens. Good luck!

Really good point to note, I haven’t check the drain plugs but I will now, ironically I had the kick panels off yesterday as I was installing new speakers… should of looked for them lol now I have to disassemble everything again haha

Hey nice vid. My wiper area I just checked and there is so many leaves, filled to the top. Also found a couple of screwdrivers in there from the previous owner. What a mess. And btw, I figured you may know what this button does. The switch / lever next to the heater / ac control on the console. I have no idea what that switch is for. Do you know ?? If so please enlighten me. Thanks Jimmy

      Hey man.
Thanks for watching! Its always a treat to hear someone found my video useful.
So the lever to the left of the A/C believe it or not, its a rear window defrost haha, I know what bs. Mines doesn’t work but maybe yours will.
      Hope this helps

@@c3sgarage thank you Sir. I was hoping it was cruise control. The guy I bought car from said it has cruise. But I don’t see any cruise. Cruise control should be where the blinkers lever is I guess. But not sure.

You are correct, if your car was equipped with cruise control (most dont work lol) you would see a press button on your signal lever at the end.

Hello and I have a quick question about your C3 Corvette. Whats the MPG you are getting? I been doing some research and some says 9 mpg other says 19 mpg. I really want to get a C3 but I want to be sure that the mpg isn’t terrible first. And thank you.

      All good!
It depends on a couple of things imo.
      1. Is this going to be a weekend car or daily driven.
      2. Are you an aggressive driver or a relax driver.
      3. How well your tune is.
I personally drive the car 1-2 per week and weekends if weather allows ( it gets hot in these cars lol)
Im rounding around 11-13mpg which is, once again imo a pretty standard mph
If you are looking at 9” then something needs to be tweak in the car. And 19mpg, is unheard of 😂 I have a couple of buddies that also drive c3s and none of them have mentioned amazing mph haha.
      Hope this helps!

@@c3sgarage thank you for the response. The reason I heard 19 mpg is from a video from motoweek retro: 1982 corvette with the crossfire injection. They made it sound like it’s wasn’t that higher from the stander c3. And this is my last question. If you were to drive it daily and keep the rpm no higher that 2,200 rpm, would the mpg be higher?

    • @c3sgarage

Yeah, I wouldn’t be to sure about the 82’ their engines (crossfire specifically) had a long list of problems, so you may get better mpg but the rest of the engine is bad lol. I actually asked this on reddit and so far 1 person running on l82 is making 8mpg lol
To answer your question, Im sure you can run higher mpg at lower rpms but whats the fun in that haha
