    Just learing alternative "body language" to communicate with self and others, by this approach with the frame of transpersonal psychology and somatic psychology.
    Breathing is one thing, exhilarating is another. Especially staying in awareness.
    Namaste 🙏

    Thank you for a great video. Contact improv is one of the coolest dance forms I've encountered. It's not easy to explain it to people who have never experienced it. I haven't seen the basic moves explained and demonstrated so well. I'll keep coming back to this video.

    So I know exactly nothing about this dance technique, but I really enjoyed watching how much fun these two were having together. You can tell they are great friends! Also, what a wonderful way to snuggle, looks very satisfying. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

    Thank you so much for making this video. I've been doing improvisational solo dancing and recently learned of this Contact Improvisation. I got to try it this past weekend at a Conscious Movement session when a couple who were experienced with it showed up. It was a fun and beautiful experiment, but I was unconfident and had no idea what to do or not to do. This video is very helpful, because I can't afford these expensive workshops.

      Minh Thu you probably figured this out, but the dancers are not dancing to this music. It’s likely there is no music while they are dancing.

      @@fawwazsyed7609 Well we're not very active at the moment of course, but pre-pandemic we actually had three or four regular jams a week plus a few monthly jams. We also have one of the biggest weekend festivals in North America. Our home base has always been Dover Court House at the corner of Dover Court and Bloor but right now everything is up in the air.
      If you would like to keep up with what's going on consider joining our local Facebook group. It's called "Toronto contact improv connection discussion group".
      I'm the admin and I will approve your membership when you join. All the announcements and everything are posted on that group. Let me know if this helps

      M.M. Beaudry I have found 2 ways of dealing with my shyness while doing CI: wearing a blindfold, and moving around on the floor in the center of everyone with my eyes closed or averted until I come into contact with another.

    This is a great video, but I found the music very distracting and thought it adds nothing. It does not synch up with their movements. I'd recommend no music or very light ambient music for future videos.

    I like the Video because a practised contact decades ago. But I don´t like that this is called "exercises". It´s the same with "yoga"-Videos. People who make this kind of Videos Forget that "Basics" have to be tought "face to face". To teach it in the "video-way" is NONSENCE!

    • @mv80401
      @mv80401 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Much ado about nothing. This is a helpful tool, and exceptionally well done. For instance, you can watch a video in slow motion to grasp intricacies of a movement you'd fail to see watching on the dance floor. Similarly, the performance of athletes of all kinds has greatly improved since we're using high speed video camera review in training. That a video does not replace a partner is obvious.
