OH MY GOSH.... I LOVE THIS VIDEO... "Bravo Darlings... Bravo" I am an Acting Director getting ready to reopen my Acting Studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico (US)... and I have got to show my students this FUN Video... Thank you all for such a great video.
I started improv in 2018 and was getting serious about it until the virus hit. This videos is fantastic! Here I was just about to post my own lessons on TH-cam and I have them right here.
These are basically warm up to the "improv muscles"... to be present, relaxed, to connect with each other, to remember not taking yourself seriously and have silly fun
I love these, thanks for sharing the suggestions. There's no improv group anywhere near where I live, I might have to start one, but don't know enough about improv yet!
Awesome! Thanks for the video! I am preparing an improvisation class for my colleagues, all done over the internet, and it really helps me create some examples. Improv done over the internet on a conference call is also a real challenge, but nevertheless really well appreciated.
This is so helpful..... Thanx I was looking for improv exercises and finally made it to this channel..... Good stuff.... Keep coming with such gr8 ideas
I can really appreciate their demos. I lead a free improv class in Austin, TX and we run through quite a few of those exercises just for to get things started. The Rapid Fire Freeze, I think I will do that one tomorrow night instead of normal Freeze Tag.
everything's great! My advice is to upscale as much as possible always. Ex, Movavi video has choice for 2k or 4k, and also for other parameters like audio. Loved this
I'd love to do improv but i just panic and don't have any tangible thoughts or actions. Even if I had to say one random word I either plan it beforehand or say, "spegueft" or any nonexistent word.
Same! I have a fear of public speaking, but I really would like to try improv. Maybe a little online group of friends in the same boat would work? Anyone willing to start a little friendly group of beginner improv?
I think it's pretty much like this: Half of the actors are in the front and half in the back. Each one in the fron tplays out any solo scene they want independently. When the host says "switch", everyone in the back moves to the front and must immediately begin a new scene. This is an exercise in being creative on the spot.
i wish some of them were explained a bit more because some were super straight forward, but in a few of them i could not figure out why they were doing/saying certain things or what the order/organization of the game was.
So my dad left the soviet union and escaped the harshest persecution and brought us to America and became a doctor and got his pHD, so then after all this I told him: "Dad.. I decided to become an improv comedian.." I then showed this video to him.. and then
Ive never been into acting since I have stage fright and lack confidence for this, but I would definitely take this class. Also, if I had a group of friends like this, then I think the confidence would eventually come.
Lucy Xie I've been doing improv games in zoom and discord tho I can recommend to you that games like count to 21 and headlines are good improv games for an online setting.
