Women in their 30's being bald, children at age 5 not having hair. Thése people need a good wig. One each person. They can style it, dye it, like real hair. And if they want shorter hair, they buy another wig.

What do you do if the person either looses or gains weight, changes their look (cosmetic surgery) ect.? Do you discard the waxfigure and start all over or do you store the outdated figure in a warehouse? Thought it would be interesting and fun to see Eg. David Bowie in retrospect.

When they have an image of the person in question, they likely mark particular points on the face -- for instance, as shown here, the eyebrows -- and match that as closely as possible on the sculpt. As for what they are, I think they're just sewing pins. Some pins have colored plastic knobs on the top.

It would be a waste of time to sculpt a wax figure of someone who is kinda popular. Sculpting a celebrity who is extremely famous, like Adele, would create more business for the museum because more people know who Adele is.
