  • Throughout my coloring journey I have certainly made mistakes in my coloring pages! Is that the end of the world? No, but I would like to learn from my coloring fails! I also want to revisit the pages gone wrong, to see if I would like to try and save them by changing or cover up the coloring gone wrong.
Let's take a look at the pages that didn't turn out the way I wanted!

I have got much worse pages than you! It can be really good to have those pages though, so when you look back in a few years time, you can see how much you have improved and you have probably learned more form the pages you disliked that from the pages that you liked.

Absolutely! And it's very motivational when you can actually see progress 😊

Thanks for sharing so brave. hopefully it will help banish the feeling each page HAS to be perfect and we can learn from what went wrong for the future.

I love the colour combo on the first one you showed in moon magic. Watercolour markers can be a pain for colouring book paper. I combat this by doing layers. I do a first layer in one direction, then let it completely dry, like very very dry. I then do another layer in a different direction. Once this layer is dry, if there are still streaks you can do another layer in another different direction. Also the metallic one in the beginning would look really nice if you did the background in dark colours, it would make the metallics really pop. Don’t be so hard on yourself, you are doing great. I use to teach art and would always say that mistakes are a creative opportunity to try something different. ❤️🇦🇺

Thank you! 😊 Maybe I'll go back one day and try something different on some of the pages to transform them. Thanks for the tip!

I dont make as many color choices that I hate since I try them out first. I have a book I don’t care if I ruin and I use it to trial the colors.

A book for trying out new colors and techniques is a good idea! Thanks! I am a bit impatient sometimes and wants to start coloring right away, but I should make the choosing of colors a part of the process every time 😊

I have seen worse than what you are showing. When I chose colors that I don’t care for I erase as much as I can then put it away for awhile. At some point I add new colors and end up not hating it as much. Try erasing some of the dark blue if it’s not pen and find a color you like and go over it. Don’t be so hard on yourself I like your work.

I forgot to mention that dark blue is inktense so unfortunately I can't erase. But thanks for the tip. And taking a break from a page to revisit later can be a great way to move forward!
