So the computer Pomni had seen in the "backrooms" office in a way, when she ran through all of the exit doors, is the computer Caine uses to make the world what all the characters know and live in. And what if the void is the way to get out, think about it. The excuse he makes is saying "unfinished work", but in reality that's just the plain exit. Float down the void for minutes on end and then poof. Your out of the computer. At the end of the pilot we see the exact same computer, but in person. In short, the computer and the void are the exit to get out and escape.
