Rose so happy for your Mom getting her passport in order to visit China. Xiao Tian is so helpful to you glad she's in your corner. It was good to see how your Mom perked up when she heard she was going to China. I am happy to see her health has improved tremendously from the time you took her to see a doctor in Kampala. Miss seeing Wu Jian Ju and Anzai hope everything is well with them in China. I am sure you miss them a lot.❤😢

Rose, you should wear dresses more often. You look very beautiful. It is amazing how you can get a passport in one day and it takes a month or two in the USA to get a passport. I know your mom is so excited to know she will be able to visit you in the future. Such a lovely experience.
In africa it's different. You walk in in the usa you mail in. In africa it's who you know at best ❤
Traveling while a baby is still nursing is very helpful because when the air pressure changes it often causes their ears to hurt. Nursing or drinking from a bottle helps their ears adjust. It doesn't happen continuously but you'll know when they start crying and you've figured out its not a diaper or hunger. Occasionally this happens with toddlers. In that case, give them something to chew.

In Kenya getting even a good conduct certificate takes 6 months for a passport citizens have to protests for the government to intervene 😮,kudos to the Ugandan system.

How lucky is it, to receive your passport in one day! We have to fill out the application, take it to the post office, have a picture taken, pay the fee, AND send your original birth certificate along with the application, and wait for a month or more. Such a long process for us here in the US. Thank you taking us along on your Kampala passport adventure Rose! Take care! Blessings to you all!
It's the same but express is a one day think you pay $100 .
Yes!!! And if you miss something on application it takes weeks to get it returned and resend and wait more, my husband’s passport is still in the processing mode for months because he missed something!!! Hopefully soon!!!! Take care!!!! I wish we could get our passport like in Roses hometown!!!!

God has given the lovely Rose the gift of language!! I noticed how easily she can easily go from one language (English, Mandarin and local language) to another. May God continue to BLESS Rose, her husband, her cute young son, her Ugandan family AND her neighbors in her Chinese village with His FAVOR/GRACE!! Elaine I went to Ivory Coast 45 years ago with my husband and my 4 year old son when my husband got a job as engineer to work in the first sugar mill in that country. I noticed how friendly were the village people. The children waited by the buses who took us and the company’s employees from USA, France and other countries to their town, with their hand extended to us greeting everybody with a big smile… Later at the market we were talking at the same time in Spanish because a local priest was from Spain and the nuns were talking to him in French then I was translated to my American friend who did not speak any French or Spanish. The priest knew French but not English and severe switching languages and ended up talking in English to the French speaking and the French to the Spaniard then it was someone from Ivory Coast who was talking in the local dialect and the only one able to understand him was the French nun. It was funny . I can imagine Rose talking in Chinese or mandarin , English and their local languages how she felt. My native language is Spanish .
