    Showing the Ruike M61 multifunction knife, which has a tool set similar to a Victorinox Craftsman or Tradesman. Ruike has said this knife is going to be available on Amazon and at Fenix Outfitters, however I have not seen any in stock yet. In the meantime, check out the text box for the Ruike Website as well as Boker Tech-Tools and Victorinox Swiss Knives.

      Do they do this model with a Philips on the back a la craftsman?

      Ebay has the ruike m61 for around $59-69. I have the LD51, very nice 3.25" blade, pliers, saw, scissors, Phillips and straight driver and serrated seat belt cutter. I like it better than my victorinox Handyman.

    Very nice tool set. I like the size of the pliers on this multitool because it complements the pliers of a common multitool.

    The Ruike line is a nice small step up from SAK models with equivalent features. The knife blade is the main upgrade, and it takes and holds a better edge than the ones on a Vic. I swapped out the corkscrew for a Phillips head, as the potions I drink require a winged cork remover. The serrated blade it moderately useful, and I did consider swapping it out for a can opener, but any can opener I use puts too much pressure on the spring, even after some grinding. I’ll keep playing till I can make one fit.

    The Ruike LD51-B is also awesome, you need one . Thanks.

    Very nice knife and brand I am thankful of you for introducing them I'll keep them in mind next time I am in the market for a new multi tool

    I ordered one of these from Amazon, and they sent me the $40 M-31 instead of the $65 M-61. Hopefully they send me the right one next time, because it seems like the perfect knife to keep in my work/"get home" bag. I wish it had a can opener, but I'm planning in carrying a P38 can opener anyway.

    Is the metal file actually a saw too like the some Victorinox knives have?

    I got the Ruike Hornet(small fixed)not to long ago and I love it, really good quality. They're a Canadian company but manufacture in China, over all I would say they are a good company

    • @sergioreyes3144
      @sergioreyes3144 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      sergio perez I have medium size hands and it fits good, the handle would be to small for xl hands. They do have a larger one with a way bigger blade but it's to big to EDC

    • @sergioperez-si7bu
      @sergioperez-si7bu 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sergio Reyes thanks for the reply I was looking and it has a 4.25 handle so I'll give it a shot my hands are long so I might be able to use it comfortably have carried a crkt minamalist wich looked pretty funny in my hands

    Great vid, this tool appears to have everything I need

  • @dpg227
    @dpg227 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    The tip of that rescue cutter does not appear to have been designed to be a screwdriver, but rather to slip between a person's body and a safety belt. It's intended to be used in a pulling motion which forces the blade open, not in a pushing motion where it could snap shut on the user. The LD51-B is similar to a Vic Workchamp, except it lacks a file, but is still 1.24 ounces heavier than it. The Ruike's best features are the thumb stud, the pocket clip, and that rescue cutter, which has kind of grown on me.

    Love the almost full size tweezers! I keep losing my Victorinox tweezers. There so damn small they jump right out of ur hand and disappear. I wish the high end brands would take note. Those tweezers would be a sweet upgrade to the old faithful Victorinox knives!

    • @WeAllJuggleKnives
      @WeAllJuggleKnives  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah the tweezers are a great addition, the Boker Tech-Tools do not have them, they have a depression to reverse the pocket clip instead. I think in the future the Bokers might add the tweezers though, maybe on the opposite scale.

    Good review and nice job figuring out the origin of the Böker multitools.
    There are also Sanrenmu multitools that look very much alike. Pretty sure it comes from the same factory.
    But who is really producing all these multitools? My bet is that it is Sanrenmu or perhaps another company producing anonymously for the 3 of these brands...

    • @WeAllJuggleKnives
      @WeAllJuggleKnives  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it is San Ren Mu, because years ago SRN they had some of these type tools for sale in other countries.

    Is the Craftsman and the Handyman the same? I don't see a difference. Just ordered the Workchamp and a set of black scales.

    Ruike is Chinese pinyin. Their Chinese name is 銳可.
    Its proper pronunciation sounds like Ray Ker.

  • @blueeyeswhitedragon9839
    @blueeyeswhitedragon9839 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have several of these Ruike multi-tools, and found them to be very well made...noticabley stronger (steel liners) than Victorinox.
    My only problem is the inclusion of the offset serrated smallblade/screwdriver...a useless and dangerous tool for the most part (except for a rescue tool). These Ruike's are a viable alternative to SAK's. Also check out the Evogrip & Rangergrip SAK's (made in Delemont, the old Wenger factory), as these are also something a bit different, with the Rangergrip knives having 4" blade & saw.

    If I removed some of the tools from the knife and put it back together would it still function?

    • @WeAllJuggleKnives
      @WeAllJuggleKnives  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it would still work, and there would just be an empty slot there, but not 100% sure.

    All I've heard from my Friends who got some Ruike Knives is very positive. Had no reason to suspect the multitool would perform otherwise. Interesting stuff about the Böker Branding though.

    An interesting item that. I'd be more tempted with it if it had a cross-head driver though. Still, if they start to sell them here in the UK I might be tempted ( depending on the price of course ).

    • @WeAllJuggleKnives
      @WeAllJuggleKnives  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, they ought to add a flat driver head to the end of the file, and replace the cutter tool with a cross driver, and they should make the corkscrew able to accept a Victorinox micro driver, this would give them 4 useful drivers vs. the 2.

  • @bicimn
    @bicimn 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    They are all made by Sanrenmu. When the Ruike guy said "we do" he was bullshitting you, not wanting to reveal that they contract Sanrenmu. Ruike is just another company buying out of the catalog like Boker did, with some changes in tool options/scales.

    • @WeAllJuggleKnives

      I am sure you are correct. Their wording was ambiguous when I asked them, but as long as it's not a counterfeit I'm okay with it.

    what's the largest bladed multi tool?

    • @darthvaper6745
      @darthvaper6745 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      as in spain u cab carry a knife, if you can explain why u needed it. so around built up areas you can't just carry a folder. so if I could find a decent sized bladed knife, that could pass for a multitool, then I still have a decent edc knife

    • @WeAllJuggleKnives
      @WeAllJuggleKnives  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think the XL size Swiss Army Knives have the longest blades, likethe one-handed Trekker knife, I'm not sure if Spain considers those a multitool.

    I think that Screwdriver Tip on the Serrated Blade was a "Why Not? It'll fit." Me, I'd just round it off with a File and use that Blade to cut Rope, strike a Ferro Rod and as an Emergency Seatbelt Cutter. Nice Vid.

    Hey Israel. I don't me to be a pain in the ass but, I've loyally watched all of your videos and have never seen a video on how to sharpen a fixed or folding knife without scratching the spine. Not all of us are knife experts. I have a Work Sharp portable field sharpener and would appreciate if you could demonstrate the procedure. All I can do is ask.

    • @WeAllJuggleKnives
      @WeAllJuggleKnives  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it's a small knife, with fairly thin blade (like a Spyderco Delica or Victorinox SAK), I use the Spyderco Sharpmaker. I am not as good at sharpening as some of these guys on here that can actually charge money for their sharpening, but here is my old video on the Spyderco Tri-Angle Sharpmaker: th-cam.com/video/Pv0zcNx4BDg/w-d-xo.html

    I like the looks of that tool. But I have just never been a fan of that style of multitool. I like the Leatherman style of multitool. Between my Leatherman wave, Squirt pliers, scissors & electrical I am more than covered for any situation I encounter that needs a quick fix or some repair or persuasion.
