7:33 1987 was 35 years ago. There has been a lot of technological advancements since then. For example: instead of this open loop system (the dam in question) you should use solar power for energy generation. Get good quality panels which will last 30-40 yrs (no make in India plz lol). For storage of solar energy, they should use close loop systems. They cause virtually zero damage to environment and do not require drastic changes in river flow. The submersion impact is minimal and can be reduced by making pumped hydro projects away from habitation, mostly made in old mines. India, as of know, has zero pumped hydro projects. For ppl who don't know what close loop hydroelectric plants are you can Wiki Pumped Hydro, the gist of it is that it uses water/potential energy as a battery; where solar energy pumps water from lower height to higher during the day and that water runs a turbine while going down to make electricity. There are a lot of plants in countries like US, China (even Japan has 1 that's 2 GigaWatt)

Had a talk with my father and he is saying that they have taken 2-3x land money and still are not displacing. Wonder who has taken the money assuming they have not gotten that money or if my father has wrong info
